POWER DISTRIBUTION
INTRODUCTION
The electrical schematics are contained in the engineering drawings numbered
217946E1 through 217946E9 and 217946EA through 217946EE. Part
locations for a majority of the electrical components are found in the engineering
drawings 217946EK and 217946EM. The 6DS-SP has two separate wiring
ducts, one for high voltage conductors and one for low voltage conductors. Each
wire length is identified at its termination points by alphanumeric characters in
black on a white tape background. Each wire length is labeled in the electrical
schematics by its identification mark in round circles. Electrical components
called out by name also have a part number in brackets ( ) following the name.
AC DISTRIBUTION
Electrical schematics for AC power distribution are found on engineering drawings
217946E1 and 217946E2. The required inhouse electrical power is THREE
PHASE, 208 VAC, 60 AMPERES. This inhouse electrical power terminates to
the main power circuit breaker 1CB. The circuit breaker is a single throw, 60-amp
rated circuit breaker. From the main power circuit breaker, wire lengths L1, L2,
and L3 carry AC electrical power to distribution block 1DB. From 1DB, three-
phase AC power branches out to transformer 1T and the main contactor via wire
lengths 1L1, 1L2, and 1L3. Transformer 1T is a step down transformer providing
24 VAC for the power up circuit and interlocks, described in the Power Up and
Interlock sections of this chapter, below.
The main contactor completes the three major arterial wire lengths 2L1, 2L2, and
2L3 to provide three-phase AC electrical power throughout the remainder of the
machine. AC electrical power is branched from the three major arterial lengths
to individual subassemblies and components by terminal strip 1TS. Terminal
strip 1TS branches out three-phase, 208 VAC power to each of a possible 15
(depending upon machine configuration) servo axis motor amplifiers, and single
phase 208 VAC power to transformer 3T and transformer 2T .
