The primary function of the Virtual K9 Barking Dog Alarm is to detect motion through walls and activate an audible alert. It can simulate the sound of a barking dog to scare away potential intruders, sound a loud alarm for emergencies, or function as an automatic doorbell (chime) to announce visitors. The device employs microwaves to "see" through walls, allowing it to detect movement from outside the monitored area without requiring direct line-of-sight. An integrated SOS button on the remote control provides an instant alarm activation feature for emergency situations, regardless of the unit's current operational status.
