DOUBLE LINE OPERATION
Models SA7000AC and SA12000AC are factory
equipped with a pulley block and hook and 50' of
cable for double line operation. This increases the
pulling capacity of the winch as shown, however,
care must be taken to allow adequate motor cool-
ing. Note that with double line, a pull of 25' requires
reeling in 50' of cable.
For intermittent use only. Ratings at left are based
on 10' pull. For longer pulls motor cooling periods
must be allowed.
MAXIMUM CONTINUOUS RUN TIME 3 MINUTES
CAUTION: CONTINUOUS RUNNING IN
EXCESS OF 3 MINUTES WILL DAMAGE WINCH
MOTOR.

CAPACITY*
(*) Load capacity (dead weight) is a measure of actual maximum force to which the
winch system may be subjected.
(**) All capacities shown are with 15' of cable on the reel and 10% rolling friction factor.
For full reel of cable adjust capacities according to graph above. Note 5% incline is
one-half foot rise in ten feet.

Summary

Winch Ratings

Double Line Operation

Details on increasing pulling capacity using a pulley block and hook for double line operation.

Important Safety Information

Prohibition of Use as a Hoist

Winch is not designed for lifting people or loads over occupied areas.

General Operating Safety

Respect power, avoid overloads, keep area clear, secure loads, handle cable properly.

Electrical and Mounting Safety

Use GFCI, grounded outlets, avoid water, check cord, mount securely.

Auxiliary Handle Use

Emergency use only; never assist motor when running.

Mounting Instructions

Mounting Surface Strength

Ensure mounting surface can support loads well in excess of winch capacity.

Winch Fastening

Use three 1/2" bolts, nuts, washers, and lock washers; ensure proper cable path.

Double Line Eyehook Installation

Install a strong eyehook near winch base for stationary cable hook in double line use.

Keyhole Slots and Quick Mount Studs

Use keyhole slots with shoulder studs for quick mounting; secure with 3/8" bolt.

Loading and Unloading Under Power

Power Operation

Operate winch using the switch in the 'in' or 'out' direction for loading/unloading.

Overload Warning

Take care to avoid overload as winch lacks circuit breaker protection.

Intermittent Motor Use

Motor is for intermittent use only; extended use without cooling can cause damage.

Unplugging When Not in Use

Unplug winch from power supply when not in use to prevent damage from surges.

Clutch Operation

Clutch Lever Function

Lever releases load without power, allowing free wheeling for cable removal.

Controlled Load Release

Rotate lever slowly to release load, maintaining control of speed.

Engaged Gears Position

Lever must return to 'Engaged Gears' for powering winch or holding a load.

Clutch Lever Force

Never force the clutch lever in either direction.

Auxiliary Handle

Emergency Crank Use

Use emergency crank handle for power failures; remove electrical power first.

Handle Engagement

Insert handle to engage drive shaft; clutch can be in free wheel for easier cranking.

Handle Grip Warning

Maintain firm grip on handle during free wheel cranking; it can spin violently.

Handle Removal

Always remove the handle after use and replace the plastic plug.

Winch Maintenance

Cable Inspection and Replacement

Inspect cable for damage; replace if kinked, frayed, or stiff. Consult website for troubleshooting.

Gear Train and Bearing Lubrication

Grease gears and oil bearings sparingly; keep clutch mechanism and brake parts clean.

Roller Clutch Check

Verify roller clutch operation: motor shaft should turn with disc clockwise, not counter-clockwise.

Clutch Adjustment

Adjust clutch spring tension in ten-degree increments for proper engagement.

Pulley Block and Hook Assembly

Pulley Rotation Check

Ensure pulley rotates freely on the bronze pulley spacer; occasional greasing recommended.
