Overview

This document describes the Summit Built-In Refrigerator Model AL55, Beverage Cooler Model ALBV2466, and Beverage Cooler Model SCR2466B. These appliances are designed for chilling beverages, with specific temperature ranges recommended for different types of wine and general cooling.

Function Description:

These appliances serve as dedicated cooling units for beverages. The AL55 is a built-in refrigerator, while the ALBV2466 and SCR2466B are beverage coolers. They are designed to maintain specific internal temperatures to preserve and chill beverages optimally. The units feature a control panel for temperature adjustment, an ECO mode for energy saving, and a Sabbath mode. They also include an automatic defrosting function.

Important Technical Specifications:

  • Power Supply: Standard electrical supply (115V AC only, 60 Hz), properly grounded.
  • Circuit Breaker/Fuse Size: 15 amps.
  • Refrigerant: Eco-friendly hydrocarbon refrigerant (Isobutane, R600a).
  • Ambient Temperature Range: 16-35°C (61-95°F) for optimal performance.
  • Temperature Control (AL55): Adjustable from 2°C to 8°C (36°F to 46°F).
  • Temperature Control (ALBV2466, SCR2466B): Adjustable from 1°C to 18°C (34°F to 65°F).
  • Recommended Wine Chilling Temperatures:
    • Red Wines: 15-18°C (59-64.4°F)
    • Dry/White Wines: 9-14°C (48.2-57.2°F)
    • Sparkling Wines: 5-8°C (41-46.4°F)
  • Ventilation: Requires at least 4" clearance on both sides, top, and back for free-standing units. For built-in installation, 3/16" on both sides, 1/16" on top, and 2" at the rear are required, ensuring airflow under the appliance is not blocked.
  • Coolant Quantity: The amount of coolant is stated on the data plate on the back of the appliance. For every ounce of coolant, at least 325 cubic feet of room space is required to mitigate the danger of combustible gases building up in case of a leak.

Usage Features:

  • Installation: Designed for both free-standing and built-in (fully recessed) installation. Requires proper leveling using adjustable front legs. The handle is installed by the user.
  • Door Swing Reversal: The door can be configured to open from either the left or right side. Instructions are provided for reversing the door swing, which involves carefully laying the appliance on its back, removing and interchanging hinges and plastic shaft sleeves, and reinstalling the door and handle.
  • Control Panel: Features buttons for temperature adjustment (increase/decrease), ECO mode activation/deactivation, ON/OFF power, mute for alarms, and light control.
  • Temperature Display: The LED display shows the internal temperature and can be switched between Celsius and Fahrenheit by pressing and holding both temperature adjustment buttons simultaneously for approximately 3 seconds.
  • ECO Mode: Reduces energy consumption by turning off the interior LED light, compressor indicator, and temperature value on the display panel. The "ECO" symbol illuminates to indicate this mode is active.
  • Light Control: The LED lamp brightness can be cycled through four positions (100%, 75%, 50%, OFF). The unit has a Memory IC, so it recovers to the last setting after a power failure.
  • Control Panel Lock: The control panel can be locked or unlocked by pressing and holding the "LOCK" button for 3 seconds to prevent accidental changes.
  • ON/OFF Power: The appliance can be turned on or off by pressing and holding the ON/OFF button for 3 seconds.
  • Mute Function: If a high/low temperature alarm is activated, the buzzer sounds continuously and can be muted by pressing the ON/OFF button once.
  • RUN Indicator: Illuminates when the compressor is running, indicating that cooling mode is in operation.
  • Demo Mode: Activated by pressing and holding the up and down temperature buttons simultaneously for 10 seconds. In this mode, the display panel operates settings, but the temperature is fixed at 12°C (54°F), and fans/compressor do not start.
  • Sabbath Mode: Activated by pressing and holding the up and down temperature buttons simultaneously for at least 5 seconds. In this mode, the LED displays "Sb," and the displays, interior light, and their automatic turn-on are disabled. Normal cooling operations continue. This mode automatically turns off after 96 hours.
  • Temperature Alarm Function:
    • High Temperature Alarm: Activates if the ambient temperature is ≥30°C (86°F) for 2 hours, displaying "HH" and sounding a continuous buzzer. The cooling system continues to work.
    • Low Temperature Alarm: Activates if the ambient temperature is <0°C (32°F) for 1 hour, displaying "LL" and sounding a continuous buzzer. The cooling system stops working.
  • Restart Delay: After being unplugged, turned off, or a power failure, a 5-minute delay is required before restarting the unit to prevent damage to the cooling system.

Maintenance Features:

  • Cleaning:
    • Interior: Turn off power, unplug, remove items and shelves. Wash with a warm water and baking soda solution (2 tablespoons baking soda to a quart of water).
    • Shelves: Wash with a mild detergent solution.
    • Exterior: Wash with a warm solution of mild liquid detergent, rinse, and wipe dry with a clean soft cloth.
    • Stainless Steel Surfaces: Routine cleaning with warm water and a cloth, wiping in the direction of brush lines. For tougher cleaning, use a mild detergent in warm water, rinse thoroughly, and towel dry.
    • Controls/Electrical Parts: Wring excess water from sponge/cloth to avoid moisture.
    • Condenser: Clean the condenser when necessary to ensure efficient operation.
    • Ventilation Opening: Clear obstructions and wipe off dust.
  • Defrosting: The unit automatically defrosts during normal operation. The compressor stops for about 30 minutes every 8 hours, and defrost water collects in an evaporating tray above the compressor. Manual defrosting may be required if frost accumulates due to frequent door openings in high heat/humidity conditions and does not clear within 24 hours.
  • Mandatory Defrost Mode: Can be manually initiated by pressing the up and down temperature buttons simultaneously for 10 seconds.
  • Power Failure: Most power failures are short and should not affect internal temperature if the door is kept closed. For extended power outages, protective measures for contents should be taken.
  • Vacations: For vacations less than three weeks, leave the appliance operating. For longer periods, turn off the appliance and leave the door slightly ajar to prevent odor buildup.
  • Transporting: Secure all loose items (shelves) inside, turn up adjustable legs, tape the door shut, and ensure the appliance remains upright and protected with a blanket during transport.
  • Energy-Saving Tip: Locate the appliance in the coolest area of the room, away from heat sources and direct sunlight.
