How to fix vibrations in my Summit Refrigerator?
    • V
      Valerie BennettSep 12, 2025
If your Summit Refrigerator is vibrating, it's likely not properly leveled. You can fix this by adjusting the feet until the appliance is stable.

Why does the Summit Refrigerator make too much noise?
    • F
      Frank MercerSep 12, 2025
The Summit Refrigerator may make noise due to the flow of refrigerant, which is normal. Gurgling sounds may occur as each cycle ends, also caused by the refrigerant. Temperature fluctuations can cause popping and crackling noises from the inner walls' contraction and expansion. Also, ensure that the appliance is properly leveled with the adjustable feet.

What to do if the light does not work in my Summit FF642D Refrigerator?
    • S
      Steven ElliottSep 15, 2025
If the light in your Summit Refrigerator isn't working, first check if the appliance is properly connected to a power supply. Also, check the circuit breaker or fuse, and ensure the light wasn't accidentally switched off on the control panel. Connect the appliance, switch on the circuit breaker or replace the fuse, and switch on the light.

Overview

This document serves as a user manual for Summit Professional frost-free drawer refrigerators, freezers, and refrigerator/freezers. It provides comprehensive instructions for safe operation, installation, and maintenance of these appliances.

Function Description:

The Summit Professional drawer appliances are designed for the storage of food, offering both refrigeration and freezing capabilities depending on the model. These units are frost-free, eliminating the need for manual defrosting under normal operating conditions. The evaporator automatically defrosts, with condensate collecting in a drip tray for evaporation. The appliances are equipped with digital control panels that allow users to set and monitor internal temperatures. Some models offer dual temperature compartments for refrigerator/freezer functionality.

Usage Features:

  • Installation: The appliances are suitable for built-in, recessed, or free-standing installation. Specific models are designed for outdoor use, featuring reinforced exteriors and power cords built to withstand elements. Proper ventilation is crucial for optimal performance, requiring specific clearances around the unit. The manual provides detailed instructions for anti-tip bracket installation to prevent accidental tipping.
  • Handle Installation: Stainless steel handles are included with the appliances and can be installed by removing the door gasket, attaching the handles with provided screws, and then replacing the gasket.
  • Overlay Panel Installation: For a built-in appearance, overlay panels can be installed. The manual details the process, including removing drawers, detaching handles, drilling holes in the drawer fronts, and securing the overlay panels with screws.
  • Kick Plate Adjustment: Certain models feature an adjustable kick plate to customize its height, with instructions provided for loosening and tightening screws to achieve the desired position.
  • Temperature Control:
    • Refrigerators: The control panel allows users to turn the appliance on/off, adjust the set temperature (ranging from 36°F to 43°F or 2°C to 6°C), and switch between Fahrenheit and Celsius display. A child lock feature automatically activates after 2 minutes of inactivity, and can be deactivated by pressing the UP and DOWN keys simultaneously.
    • Freezers: Freezer models offer similar controls for power, temperature adjustment (ranging from -11°F to 11°F or -24°C to -12°C), and °F/°C selection. Additionally, a "SuperFreeze" function is available to rapidly freeze fresh food, overriding the thermostat for continuous compressor operation for 8 hours.
    • Refrigerator/Freezers: These models feature two separate temperature compartments. The bottom compartment (freezer) and top compartment (refrigerator) can be independently controlled using dedicated UP and DOWN symbols. The freezer temperature range is -11°F to 11°F (-24°C to -12°C), and the refrigerator range is 36°F to 43°F (2°C to 6°C).
  • Indicator Light: A dot at the bottom right of the display illuminates when a multi-key function is selected, guiding users through advanced operations.
  • Interior Light: LED interior lights illuminate when a drawer is opened. These lights are designed for long life and are not user-serviceable.
  • Sabbath Mode: This mode is available for religious observance, disabling displays, interior lights, and audible alarms while maintaining normal cooling operations. It can be activated and deactivated through a specific key combination and automatically turns off after 48 hours.
  • Temperature Memory Function: In the event of a power interruption, the unit remembers previous temperature settings and restores them once power is recovered.
  • Temperature Alarm/Door Alarm: An audible alarm sounds if the storage temperature is too high or if a drawer is left open for more than 60 seconds. The temperature display flashes during a temperature alarm. The POWER key can silence the audible alarm.
  • Freezer Usage (if available): The freezer is designed for long-term storage of frozen food, up to three months. Users are advised to follow manufacturer instructions for pre-packed frozen foods and to place food into the freezer as quickly as possible after purchase.

Maintenance Features:

  • Cleaning: Regular cleaning involves turning off and unplugging the appliance, removing all items, and washing interior surfaces with a baking soda solution. Racks and dividers can be cleaned with a mild detergent. The exterior cabinet should be wiped with warm water and mild liquid detergent. Stainless steel surfaces require an approved stainless steel cleaner.
  • Power Failure: In case of a power failure, minimizing drawer openings helps maintain internal temperatures for a few hours. For longer outages, steps should be taken to protect contents.
  • Vacation Time: For short vacations (less than three weeks), the appliance can remain operating. For long vacations (several months), it's recommended to empty, clean, dry, and slightly block the drawers open to prevent odors and mold.
  • Moving the Appliance: Before moving, all items should be removed, loose components taped down, adjustable legs raised, and drawers taped shut. The appliance should remain upright and protected during transport.
  • Energy-Saving Tips: The manual provides tips such as locating the appliance in a cool, well-ventilated area, avoiding prolonged drawer openings, allowing hot foods to cool before storage, properly wrapping foods, and organizing contents to reduce search times.
  • Troubleshooting: A detailed troubleshooting guide helps users diagnose and resolve common issues, such as the appliance not operating, not cooling sufficiently, frequent cycling, light not working, vibrations, excessive noise, and drawers not closing properly. It also explains various error codes displayed on the control panel.
