How to fix Summit Refrigerator not cold enough?
    • K
      Kelly ChambersAug 13, 2025
If your Summit Refrigerator isn't cold enough, start by checking the temperature setting to ensure it's correctly set. If the room is particularly warm, you might need to increase the thermostat setting. Avoid opening the door too frequently or leaving it open, and make sure it closes completely and seals properly. A dirty condenser or blocked ventilation opening can also cause this issue, so clean them as needed.

      Brett PowellAug 17, 2025
First, ensure the Summit Refrigerator is properly connected to a power source. If it's plugged in, check if the appliance is switched on. Also, inspect the circuit breaker or fuse box; a tripped breaker or blown fuse could be the cause. Reset the breaker or replace the fuse as needed.

What to do if alarm sounds and temperature display flashes on Summit X-Series Refrigerator?
    • B
      Brittany BanksAug 25, 2025
If the alarm sounds and the temperature display flashes on your Summit Refrigerator, it could be due to several reasons. If the door has been open for more than 60 seconds, close it. Also, avoid opening the door too often, and ensure the ventilation opening is clear and free from dust. If there has been a power interruption or a large number of bottles added, allow the appliance time to reach the set temperature.

Why does my Summit Refrigerator turn itself on and off frequently?
    • S
      Scott JeffersonAug 29, 2025
If your Summit Refrigerator is turning on and off frequently, it might be due to a higher-than-average room temperature; try moving the appliance to a cooler location. Adding a large number of bottles at once can also cause this; allow the refrigerator time to reach the set temperature. Avoid opening the door too often and ensure it is closed completely with a proper seal.

Overview

This document serves as the owner's manual for Summit Commercial Wine Cellars, covering both X-Series and CH-Series models. The manual provides comprehensive information on the appliance's safety, installation, operation, and maintenance.

Function Description

The Summit Commercial Wine Cellars are designed for storing and cooling beverages, including wines and champagne. They are not intended for storing perishable food, medicine, or other medical products. These units are available in two main series: X-Series and CH-Series, each offering distinct shelving configurations. The X-Series models (SCR610BLX/CSS, SCR611GLOSX, SCR1401X/LH/CSS) feature fixed diamond shelving racks designed to store bottles horizontally. The CH-Series models (SCR610CH/CSS, SCR611GLOSCH, SCR1156CH/CSS, SCR1401/LH/CH/CSS) feature adjustable stainless steel shelves specifically designed for wider champagne and sparkling wine bottles, which can be positioned at an angle for display or horizontally for traditional storage.

The appliances are equipped with a digital control panel for temperature management, an ON/OFF power button, a light switch, and a digital display for temperature and controls. Some models (SCR1401* and SCR1401LH*) have the light switch on the upper panel and front grille, while others have it only on the front grille. The units include a security lock for safeguarding contents.

Important Technical Specifications

  • Power Supply: Standard 115/120 Volt AC ~ 60Hz, three-prong grounded electrical outlet.
  • Circuit Breaker/Fuse: 15 amperes.
  • Refrigerant: Isobutane (R600a), an environmentally friendly hydrocarbon refrigerant.
  • Temperature Range: The temperature control range is from 38°F to 68°F (5°C to 18°C).
  • Ambient Temperature: Recommended installation in areas with ambient temperatures between 72°F and 78°F (23°C to 26°C). Performance may be affected outside this range.
  • Ventilation: For freestanding installation, 5 inches (127 mm) of space is suggested at the back and sides. For built-in installation, 2 to 3 mm (about 1/10") on each side and at the top, and 2 inches (51 mm) at the back are required for proper service access and ventilation. The front air vent must never be covered or blocked.
  • Door Swing: Some models (SCR610BL* and SCR611GLOS*) have the capability to reverse the door swing from left to right.
  • Lighting: Equipped with LED lighting that automatically illuminates when the door is opened and turns off when closed. An option to keep the light on even with a closed door is available via the light switch.
  • Sabbath Mode: A feature that turns off displays, interior light, and audible alarms for religious observances, while normal cooling operations continue. It automatically turns off after 96 hours.
  • Temperature Memory Function: In case of a power interruption, the unit remembers previous temperature settings and returns to them once power is restored.
  • Temperature Alarm / Door Alarm: An audible alarm sounds if the storage temperature is too high or if the door has been left open for more than 60 seconds.

Usage Features

  • Installation: Units are designed for either built-in or free-standing installation. Model SCR611GLOS is rated for outdoor use, while SCR1401, SCR1156, and SCR610 models are not.
  • Leveling: Adjustable front leveling legs are provided to ensure the appliance works properly.
  • Handle Installation: A stainless steel handle is included and can be installed by removing the door gasket, securing the handle with screws, and then replacing the gasket.
  • Temperature Setting: Users can set the desired temperature using UP and DOWN symbols on the digital control panel. The display shows the original set temperature, which can be adjusted in 1°C/1°F increments.
  • Temperature Display Units: The display can be switched between Fahrenheit (°F) and Celsius (°C) by pressing and holding the LIGHT key for 5 seconds (for SCR1401* & SCR1401LH* models). For SCR610BL*, SCR611GLOS* & SCR1156* models, technical support must be contacted to change the display units.
  • Shelving:
    • X-Series: Fixed diamond-shaped racks for horizontal bottle storage. Bordeaux and Burgundy bottles can be stored on side shelving, but flat center shelving is recommended only for Bordeaux bottles due to the risk of wider Burgundy bottles rolling.
    • CH-Series: Adjustable stainless steel shelves with cantilevered clips for angled display or horizontal storage. Additional shelves can be ordered online.
  • Door Lock: A lock and key combination is provided to secure the contents.
  • Child Safety: Instructions are provided to prevent child entrapment, including removing doors and leaving shelves in place when discarding old refrigerators.

Maintenance Features

  • Cleaning:
    • Disconnect power before cleaning.
    • Remove all items and shelves.
    • Wash interior and exterior surfaces with warm water and mild liquid detergent, then rinse and wipe dry with a soft cloth.
    • Use an approved stainless steel cleaning product for interior stainless steel surfaces; avoid steel wool or steel brushes.
    • Exercise caution when cleaning near controls or electrical parts to avoid electrical shock.
  • Defrosting: The units defrost automatically under normal operating conditions. Condensate collects in a drip tray and evaporates. Manual defrosting may be required if frost accumulates due to frequent door openings in high heat or humidity, and does not clear within 24 hours.
  • Power Failure: Most power failures are short and should not significantly affect temperature if the door is kept closed. For longer outages, steps should be taken to protect contents.
  • Vacations:
    • Short vacations (less than three weeks): Leave the appliance operating.
    • Long vacations (several months): Remove all items, turn off the appliance, clean and dry the interior, and leave the door slightly open to prevent odor and mold.
  • Moving the Appliance:
    • Remove contents.
    • Securely tape down loose items (shelves).
    • Turn up adjustable legs to prevent damage.
    • Tape the door shut.
    • Keep the appliance upright and protect its exterior during transportation.
  • Energy-Saving Tips:
    • Locate the appliance in the coolest area of the room, away from heat sources and direct sunlight.
    • Ensure adequate ventilation and do not cover air vents.
    • Minimize door opening time.
  • Troubleshooting Guide: A detailed guide is provided to help users diagnose and resolve common issues such as the appliance not operating, not cooling sufficiently, temperature variations, frequent cycling, light not working, vibrations, door not closing properly, error codes, and alarms.
