Usage Features

Control Panel:

  • ON/OFF Power: Press and hold the power key for 5 seconds to turn off, or 1 second to turn on. A single press can switch off the audible alarm.
  • Light: Touch and hold the light key for 5 seconds to toggle the interior light on/off. The interior light indicator (dot at bottom right of display) confirms selection.
  • Up (+) / Down (-): Used to increase/decrease the set temperature by 1°C/1°F.
  • Temperature Setting: The temperature range is 36°F to 43°F. The factory preset is 38°F (3°C).
  • Settings Mode: Allows selection of °F/°C display, display brightness (d1: dimmest, d2: medium, d3: brightest), interior lighting brightness (L1: dimmest, L2: medium, L3: brightest), fan mode (F0: Silent/Energy saving, F1: Dynamic Cooling half time, F2: Dynamic Cooling full time), and audible tones (S0: sensor ON/alarm OFF, S1: sensor ON/alarm ON, S2: sensor OFF/alarm OFF, S3: sensor OFF/alarm ON).
  • Dynamic Cooling Mode: Circulates interior air evenly, ensuring consistent temperature throughout the cabinet. The internal fan motor runs even when the compressor is off.
  • Silent Mode: The internal fan motor is off when the compressor is off, reducing noise.
  • Sabbath Mode: Disables displays, interior light, and audible alarms for religious observance. Normal cooling operations continue. Activated by pressing POWER and LIGHT keys simultaneously for 5 seconds. Automatically turns off after 48 hours.
  • Temperature Memory Function: Retains previous temperature settings after a power interruption.
  • Temperature Alarm/Door Alarm: Sounds an audible alarm and flashes the temperature display if the storage temperature is too high or if the door is left open for more than 60 seconds.

Installation:

  • Placement: Requires a strong, level floor. For freestanding, 5" (127mm) space at back and sides, 4" (102mm) at top. For built-in, 1¼" (5mm) each side, 2" (50mm) back, ½" (3mm) top. Front air vent must not be blocked.
  • Ambient Temperature: Recommended between 72°F (23°C) and 78°F (26°C) for optimal performance.
  • Door Swing Reversal: Units are delivered with left-side opening but can be reversed to open from the right. Instructions involve removing hinges, transferring pins, and relocating the handle.
  • Kick Plate Adjustment: Allows adjustment of the kick plate height by loosening/removing screws.
  • Handle Installation: Stainless steel handle is installed over mounting stubs using an Allen key or by removing the door gasket to access screw holes, depending on the model.

Shelves:

  • Designed for easy access, shelves can be pulled approximately halfway out.
  • Plastic posts on shelf tracks prevent contents from falling.
  • To remove shelves, empty contents, align notches with plastic posts, and lift.

Maintenance Features

Cleaning:

  • Interior: Wash with lukewarm water and baking soda solution (2 tablespoons per quart of water).
  • Shelves: Wash with a mild detergent solution.
  • Exterior: Wash with warm water and mild liquid detergent, rinse, and wipe dry.
  • Caution: Unplug the appliance before cleaning to prevent electrical shock. Do not use steel wool or abrasive brushes on stainless steel.

Defrosting:

  • The unit defrosts automatically under normal operating conditions. Condensate drains into a drip tray and evaporates.
  • Manual defrosting may be required if frost accumulates due to frequent door openings in high heat/humidity and does not clear within 24 hours.

Power Failure:

  • Most power failures are short and should not affect temperature if the door is kept closed. For longer outages, take steps to protect contents.

Vacations:

  • Short Vacations (less than three weeks): Leave the appliance operating.
  • Long Vacations (several months): Remove all items, turn off the appliance, clean and dry the interior thoroughly. Leave the door slightly open to prevent odor and mold.

Moving the Appliance:

  • Remove all items, tape down loose shelves, turn up adjustable legs, tape the door shut.
  • Keep the appliance upright and protect the exterior with a blanket.

Energy-Saving Tips:

  • Locate the appliance in the coolest area, away from heat sources and direct sunlight.
  • Ensure adequate ventilation and never cover air vents.
  • Minimize door opening time.

Troubleshooting: The manual includes a comprehensive troubleshooting guide for common issues such as:

  • Appliance not operating (power supply, circuit breaker, temperature setting).
  • Appliance not cold enough (door issues, dirty condenser, blocked ventilation, high room temperature, too many items).
  • Appliance turning on/off frequently (door issues, faulty appliance).
  • Light not working (power supply, circuit breaker, light switched off).
  • Vibrations/noise (unleveled appliance, refrigerant flow, contraction/expansion of inner walls).
  • Door not closing properly (unleveled, reversed door, dirty gasket, shelves out of position).
  • Error codes (E0: communication error, E1/E2: air temperature sensor failure, E3/E4: defrost sensor failure, E5: defrost heater failure, E6: solenoid valve failure, E7: door switch failure).
  • Temperature display flashing "--" (temperature out of display range).

Warranty:

  • One-Year Limited Warranty: Covers factory-specified parts and repair labor for defects in materials or workmanship within the 48 contiguous United States. Outside the 48 states, parts are warranted for one year. Plastic parts, shelves, and cabinets are warranted to commercially acceptable standards.
  • Five-Year Compressor Warranty: Covers the compressor for 5 years, but does not include labor.
  • Exclusions: Service calls for installation issues, light bulbs, broken shelves, consumable parts, damage from accidents/misuse, unauthorized modifications, or units operated outside the US.
