is recommended that you consult a physician before using this
sunbed if taking any medication or if you suspect that your skin might
be especially sensitive to sunlight.
CAUTION
Use of a voltage source above 230V AC may prevent proper operation
of the sunbed and could cause damage and void the warranty.
Air from the room is used to cool the sunbed. Maximum ambient room
temperature should be 80°F. Place your sunbed no closer than 6” from
any wall. Make sure nothing obstructs the airflow into the sunbed’s
endcaps or out of the fan openings. A poorly ventilated room may
cause the unit to become hot and cause discomfort to the user.

Ultraviolet radiation. Follow instructions. Avoid overexposure. As with
natural sunlight, overexposure can cause eye and skin injury and
allergic reactions. Repeated exposure may cause premature aging of the skin and skin cancer.
WEAR PROTECTIVE EYEWEAR; FAILURE TO MAY RESULT IN SEVERE BURNS OR
LONGTERM INJURY TO THE EYES. Medications or cosmetics may increase your sensitivity
to the ultraviolet radiation. Consult physician before using sunlamp if you are using medications
or have a history of skin problems or believe yourself especially sensitive to sunlight. If you do
not tan in the sun, you are unlikely to tan from the use of this product. Children, the elderly, or
fair skinned people who always burn easily and either never tan or tan minimally should not use
this equipment.
To use, lie down on bench and pull canopy down as far as adjustment will allow. Do not use
without clear plastic panels in place. Untanned persons should not tan on consecutive days dur-
ing their first week of tanning. Never tan more than once a day. Tanning normally appears after
the first few sessions and maximizes after approximately four weeks. Tan once or twice per week
thereafter to maintain appearance. Persons already having a base tan may begin at advanced
levels corresponding to the extent of their base tan.
Skin Type:
I Sensitive Skin (Burns easily and severely and does not tan.)
II Light Skin (Burns easily and severely and tans minimally.)
III Normal Skin (Burns moderately and tans average.)
IV Dark Skin (Burns minimally, tans easily and above average.)
New lamps emit approximately 10% more ultraviolet radiation during the first 50 hours of
operation. Recommended tanning times should therefore be reduced by approximately 10%
during that period.

Overview

The 24X Power is a sunbed designed for personal tanning. It utilizes ultraviolet (UV) radiation to facilitate tanning, and users are advised to follow instructions carefully to avoid overexposure, which can lead to eye and skin injury, allergic reactions, premature skin aging, and skin cancer. Protective eyewear is mandatory during operation.

Function Description:

The sunbed consists of a bench and a canopy, both equipped with UV lamps. Users lie on the bench, and the canopy is lowered to a comfortable position for tanning. The unit features a timer display that shows the remaining session time and a timer button to start the session and adjust the desired tanning duration. A stop button allows users to interrupt the session at any time. The sunbed incorporates cooling fans that run for three minutes after the lamps shut off to aid in cooling the unit.

Important Technical Specifications:

  • Power Source: Operates from a 220V AC source.
  • Electrical Outlet: Requires a NEMA 6-20R electrical outlet on a dedicated circuit capable of providing 20 Amp service. The outlet must be earth grounded.
  • Lamps: Uses X-Power Wolff® Model XP71-T12-100W BI PIN lamps. New lamps emit approximately 10% more UV radiation during the first 50 hours of operation, requiring a 10% reduction in recommended tanning times during this period.
  • Maximum Exposure Time: 15 minutes.
  • Ambient Room Temperature: Maximum 80°F. The sunbed should be placed no closer than 6" from any wall to ensure proper airflow.
  • Remote Control: Supports T-Max® Manager, T-Max® 1A, and T-Max® 3A remote systems, as well as non-T-Max® remote systems using a control relay (requiring a remote interface kit). The remote interface circuitry operates on 5 volts; connecting to higher voltages will damage the sunbed and void the warranty.
  • Hour Counter: An integrated hour counter tracks lamp usage, aiding in maintenance scheduling.

Usage Features:

  • Skin Type Guidelines: Recommended exposure times vary based on skin type:
    • Sensitive Skin (Type I): Not recommended for tanning.
    • Light Skin (Type II): 3 minutes (Level 1/Week 1), 6 minutes (Level 2), 9 minutes (Level 3), 12 minutes (Level 4), 15 minutes (Subsequent Maximum).
    • Normal Skin (Type III): 4 minutes (Level 1/Week 1), 7 minutes (Level 2), 11 minutes (Level 3), 15 minutes (Level 4), 15 minutes (Subsequent Maximum).
    • Dark Skin (Type IV): 5 minutes (Level 1/Week 1), 9 minutes (Level 2), 13 minutes (Level 3), 15 minutes (Level 4), 15 minutes (Subsequent Maximum).
  • Tanning Schedule: Untanned individuals should not tan on consecutive days during their first week. Never tan more than once a day. Tanning typically appears after a few sessions and maximizes after approximately four weeks. To maintain a tan, use the sunbed once or twice per week. Individuals with a base tan can start at advanced levels.
  • Preparation: Skin should be free of cosmetics, tanning oils (unless specifically made for tanning devices), and hair free of gels, mousses, or sprays to prevent damage to the acrylic shield.
  • Operation (Without Remote/Control Relay): Press the timer button to start the session. The lamps turn on, and the timer counts down. Press the timer button repeatedly to decrease the desired time.
  • Operation (With T-Max® Manager/1A/3A): If a pre-tanning delay is set, the timer display will flash "dL" before showing the delay time. Press the timer button or wait for the delay to expire to start the session. The lamps turn on, and the timer counts down. After the session, the timer will indicate ".." as a reminder to clean the sunbed.
  • Canopy Handling: Raise the canopy by using its outer edge, not by pushing on the acrylic shield, which may crack.
  • Remote Control Setup: Sunbeds can be connected to T-Max® Manager systems (supporting auto-addressing and parameters 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, and 15) or T-Max® 1A/3A systems. For T-Max® 1A/3A as a master remote, the sunbed address must be "1". For T-Max® Manager, each sunbed needs a unique address. Addresses are set manually by pressing the stop and timer buttons simultaneously for three seconds. Non-T-Max® remote systems require a remote interface kit.

Maintenance Features:

  • Cleaning After Use: Clean and disinfect the bench and canopy after each use with a non-abrasive disinfectant cleaner that does not contain ammonia or ammonia derivatives. Ammonia can damage the acrylic shield.
  • Thorough Periodic Cleaning: The cooling fans draw air through the bed, leading to dust buildup on lamps and reflectors. When dust is observed, thoroughly clean the inside of the bench and canopy by removing acrylic shields and lamps, wiping lamps, cleaning both sides of acrylic shields with a non-ammonia disinfectant, wiping reflectors, and then reinstalling.
  • Mechanical Inspection: Every 400-500 hours of use, inspect fasteners, gas springs (replace if they don't hold the canopy open), AC power cord, and acrylic (replace if broken, cracked, or scratched).
  • Lamp Replacement: Lamps should be changed after approximately 800-1000 hours of use for maximum tanning effectiveness. Replace lamp starters whenever lamps are replaced. Only certified lamps should be used.
  • Acrylic Shield Removal/Replacement: Acrylic shields are secured by hinged profiles. Pry up the inside edge of the profile until it releases, then slide the acrylic toward you to remove. Reverse the process to replace. Be careful as the edges of the acrylic shield may be sharp.
  • Hour Counter Reset: To reset the hour counter, disconnect power, then press and hold the green timer button while reconnecting power. Release after a few seconds.
