Function Description

The Sunbeam Feel Perfect Therapeutic Heat Pad is designed to deliver warmth for therapeutic purposes. It features waterproof heating elements, making it fully immersible and safe for both hand and machine washing. The heat pad is intended for personal use to provide comfort and warmth to areas such as the back, neck, arms, or legs. It includes a controller that allows users to select from multiple heat settings and features an auto shut-off function for safety. The device is not intended for medical use in hospitals, nor is it designed to be operated by an external timer or separate remote control system. It is also not suitable for heating animals.

Usage Features

To use the heat pad, first remove all packaging. Ensure the power button on the controller is in the off position (not pressed in) before connecting the controller to the heat pad. Once connected, insert the plug into a power outlet and switch it on. The heat pad will automatically default to setting 5 for rapid heating and will begin to warm up. Setting 5 is specifically for rapid heat-up and should not be used for continuous or overnight use. For continuous or overnight use, users should select from settings 1-4.

The heat pad can be placed behind the back or neck while sitting or lying on a couch, chair, or bed, offering a cozy and comfortable addition to any lounge or bedroom. It comes with a sleeve that can be used to secure the heat pad to a chair back or around an arm or leg. To reduce the warmth, users can switch to a lower heat setting using the temperature setting button on the controller.

The controller features a power button, a temperature setting button, and a standby indicator. The temperature settings range from 1 (Low - Up to 30 degrees) to 4 (High - 37 to 39 degrees), with setting 5 designated for rapid heat-up only. The standby indicator is a blue light. If this light begins to flash, it indicates a potential connection issue between the controller and the heat pad. In such a case, the user should turn the controller off, check the connection, and if the flashing persists after turning it back on, contact a Sunbeam Service Agent.

A key safety feature is the auto shut-off function. After 3 hours of operation, the heat pad will automatically switch itself off, and the blue standby indicator light will illuminate to confirm this.

Maintenance Features

The Sunbeam Feel Perfect heat pad is designed for easy care and cleaning due to its waterproof heating elements. Before cleaning, it is crucial to ensure that the controls are unplugged from the heat pad.

For spot cleaning, sponge the affected area with a neutral wool detergent or mild soap flakes mixed with lukewarm water. Sponge twice with clean water to remove any detergent residue. Excess water should be removed by compressing the wet area between two towels.

For hand washing, wash the heat pad in lukewarm water with a neutral wool detergent or mild soap flakes. Soak it for five minutes, then gently squeeze the soapy water through the fabric. Rinse thoroughly in clean, lukewarm water and drain excess water from the heat pad. Wringing is not recommended.

For machine washing, the heat pad can be washed in a domestic washing machine or taken to a commercial laundry. Use a WOOL or DELICATES cycle with a neutral wool detergent or mild soap flakes, at a temperature below 40°C. High speed or extra spin cycles should not be used.

After washing, the heat pad should be line dried by draping it across several lines of a clothesline. Pegs should not be used on the wired areas. It should not be dried with a hairdryer or heater. It is essential to ensure that the heat pad and control sockets are completely dry before using again.

Machine drying is possible on a LOW setting for a maximum of 15 minutes. After machine drying, smooth the heat pad by gently pulling out any creases from the fabric. It should then be line dried to ensure complete dryness of the heat pad and control sockets before use. Again, do not dry with a hairdryer or heater.

When storing the heat pad, roll or fold it loosely and place it in a blanket bag or the bag it was supplied in. To prevent damage, avoid pressing sharp creases into the heat pad and do not place heavy items on top of it during storage.

Regularly examine the heat pad for any signs of wear or damage. If any such signs are present, or if the heat pad has been misused, it should be returned to the nearest Sunbeam Service Agent for inspection before any further use. This includes instances where the appliance suffers a thermal or fuse link rupture (indicated by the heat pad stopping heating), in which case it should be returned to the manufacturer or agent for repair or replacement.
