Overview

The SUNJOE Cordless Inflator+Deflator is a versatile 24-volt MAX tool designed for both inflation and deflation tasks, offering convenience and portability for a variety of applications. This tool-only unit requires a separately purchased iON+ 24V System battery and charger for operation.

Function Description:

The primary function of the SUNJOE Cordless Inflator+Deflator is to inflate and deflate high-volume items. It is equipped with an inflation port and a deflation port, allowing users to easily switch between modes. The tool comes with three different inflation adapters (small, medium, and large) to accommodate various valve sizes and item types. The small adapter is suitable for smaller air valves found on items like beach balls, children's toys, and pool inflatables, and can also be used to deflate vacuum compression bags. The medium adapter is ideal for air mattresses, inflatable pools, and rafts, while the large adapter is designed for high-volume inflatables such as bounce houses and boats. The device is activated by an ON/OFF trigger.

Usage Features:

Before using the inflator+deflator, operators must carefully read and understand all safety instructions provided in the manual. Personal safety is paramount, emphasizing the need to stay alert, dress properly (avoiding loose clothing or jewelry), and use safety equipment like eye protection. The tool should be operated in a clean, well-lit work area, keeping children, bystanders, and pets at a safe distance. It's crucial to operate the inflator in an open area, at least 18 inches (45.7 cm) away from any wall or object that could restrict airflow to ventilation openings.

The inflator+deflator is designed for ease of use. To begin, the iON+ 24V System battery pack (sold separately) must be fully charged and then slid into the battery compartment until it clicks into position. The battery pack features a charge level indicator with a push button and LEDs to display the current charge status. Users are advised to charge the battery frequently to optimize performance and avoid exhaustive discharge, which can damage the battery cells.

Once the battery is inserted, the appropriate adapter is selected based on the item to be inflated or deflated. The adapters are designed to be easily attached to the inflator or deflator end by aligning notches and slots, then twisting to lock them into place. It is recommended to keep the adapters connected to prevent loss. When inflating, the nozzle of the adapter is inserted into the air port of the object. The ON/OFF trigger is pressed to start the inflation or deflation process and pressed again to stop.

A critical usage feature is the warning against over-inflation. Users must carefully follow the instructions on items to be inflated and never exceed recommended pressures, as unattended items can burst and cause serious injury. The tool should not be used as a breathing device or to spray chemicals, as inhaling toxic fumes can be harmful. Misuse or improper handling can lead to injury.

Maintenance Features:

Proper maintenance is essential for prolonging the life of the SUNJOE Cordless Inflator+Deflator and ensuring safe operation. Users should regularly inspect the tool for any signs of damage, such as cracks, pinholes, or other imperfections that could compromise its safety. Any damaged guards or parts should be properly repaired or replaced by an authorized service center.

The tool and its handle should be kept dry, clean, and free from oil and grease. A clean cloth should be used for cleaning; harsh chemicals like brake fluid, gasoline, petroleum-based products, or strong solvents should never be used, as they can deteriorate the enclosure plastic and lead to loss of control.

Battery maintenance is also crucial. The battery pack should be removed from the inflator when not in use, before servicing, changing accessories, or performing any other maintenance task. This preventive measure reduces the risk of accidental starting. The battery charger and its cord should be protected from damage, heat, oil, and sharp edges. Damaged cords should be repaired by a qualified technician. The battery pack and charger should be stored in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures (above 105°F/40.5°C or below 41°F/5°C). Fully charged batteries should be stored at least 40% charged.

The manual also emphasizes the importance of using only accessories and replacement parts recommended by the manufacturer to avoid injury and maintain the tool's integrity. If the tool leaks air or malfunctions, its use should be discontinued immediately. Regular inspection of tool cords and awareness of their location are also advised to prevent electric shock or fire. In case of any issues or for service, users are directed to contact the Snow Joe® + Sun Joe® customer service center.
