The SuperHandy Electric Power Dolly is a compact and convenient device designed for towing trailers, RVs, and other equipment fitted with ball head couplings. It facilitates movement over short distances and in confined spaces, offering forward, backward, and basic steering capabilities.
The primary function of the Electric Power Dolly is to provide motorized assistance for moving trailers. It is equipped with a handle bar assembly for control, a hitch ball for coupling with trailers, and auxiliary wheels for enhanced maneuverability. The dolly operates on a DC24V, 9Ah power supply, driven by an 800W motor. It features a start switch to control movement, a transformer for voltage conversion (24V to 12V), and a controller to preset instructions. A 7-core socket provides 12V power to electromagnetic brakes or lifts on compatible trailers. The power wheel transmits traction, while universal wheels control the direction of travel. The hitch ball adjusting stem allows for precise positioning of the hitch ball, both forward/backward and up/down, to optimize traction and ensure safe coupling. Rear support bars prevent the equipment from cocking. The dolly includes a power switch to turn the main power on or off, and a voltage and battery level indicator to monitor battery status.
The Electric Power Dolly is designed for ease of use, but requires careful adherence to safety guidelines. Pre-operation Checks: Before operation, users must ensure all bolts are securely tightened, the hitch ball stem is fastened and locked in the desired position, and tires are in good condition with pressure maintained at 60±2psi (4.2±0.1kgs/cm²). The battery must have sufficient power, and all switches should operate smoothly. A no-load test of the dolly is recommended to confirm flexible rotation of universal wheels and free forward/backward movement. It is crucial to verify that the pulled trailer's weight does not exceed the dolly's maximum bearing capacity and that the hitch ball and trailer coupler are tightened, with the trailer's brake control system in good working order. The working surface must be paved, level, and have a grade of less than 4 degrees. Hitch Ball Position Selection: To maximize traction and friction, the hitch ball adjusting stem position should be selected based on the direction of travel. For movement in the "D" (forward) direction, the hitch ball adjusting stem should be at Gear A. For movement in the "R" (reverse) direction, it should be at Gear B. The hitch ball height can be adjusted from 17.2" to 25.6" or installed directly on the main frame. When coupling, the connecting rod must be parallel to the ground to avoid affecting traction efficiency or increasing the risk of overturning. Towing Procedure: The dolly should be positioned near the trailer coupler, and the hitch ball height adjusted to be slightly lower than the coupler. The dolly is then moved to align the hitch ball and coupler coaxially. The trailer is slowly lowered via its lifter until the coupler fully engages with the hitch ball. Finally, the safety hook is locked to ensure a secure connection. After turning on the power switch and confirming full battery charge, pressing the start switch in the direction of the dolly's intended movement will initiate slow movement at 1.5km/h. Safety Precautions: The dolly should only be used on level paved surfaces with less than a 4° grade and never on sloped driveways or boat launches. It is not intended to replace a vehicle. Users must avoid storing battery packs with metallic objects to prevent short circuits and fire. Any fluid leaks from the battery require careful disposal. Disassembly or tampering with the battery voids the warranty. Damaged battery packs should be replaced immediately. The dolly should not be operated in explosive or combustible environments. When not in use, the battery power must be disconnected. Only Superhandy-provided chargers and lead-acid battery packs should be used. Charging should occur at 32°F-120°F (0°C-49°C) and storage at 32°F-86°F (0°C-30°C). The charger should be disconnected once the battery is fully charged, and the battery should be charged every 3 months if not in use to prevent complete discharge. The maximum tow limit must not be exceeded. RVs, yachts, or trailers without functional brakes should never be pulled. All factory-approved hardware must be used. The dolly is not for moving people. Operation under the influence of alcohol or drugs is prohibited. Obstacles must be removed from the dolly's path. Power supply must be disconnected during assembly, maintenance, or storage. Operators must read and understand the manual and be at least 16 years old. Overload Protection: The dolly is equipped with an overload protection system that shuts down the unit if an overload is detected, protecting both the user and the product. If this occurs, the loading weight must be reduced to within the maximum rated capacity before restarting the dolly.
Battery Charge Level: It is critical to maintain the battery charge level regularly to prevent full discharge, which can damage the lead-acid battery and impair its ability to hold a charge. Start Switch Replacement: To replace the start switch, pry open the snaps on both sides, disconnect all terminals, and remove the switch. For installation, refer to the wiring diagram, insert the corresponding terminals, press the switch to confirm correct dolly movement direction, and then align and push the switch into the square hole. Power Wheels Replacement: To remove power wheels, unscrew the four M14 nuts and gently tap the wheel down alternately from left to right with a soft hammer. For installation, align the mounting holes with the bolts, ensuring the inflating inlet faces outward, and tighten the four M14 nuts diagonally. Controller Replacement: Remove the M4 screws on both sides of the control box, open the lid, pull all terminals from the controller, and remove it. For installation, insert the controller into the box compartment, connect the corresponding color wires and terminals according to the diagrams, close the box lid, and tighten the screws. Power Switch Replacement: Open the battery box lid, disconnect the battery terminals first to prevent short circuits, then pull all terminals from the power switch. Press the snap feet on the inside of the switch inward to push it out. For installation, align the power switch with the square hole of the lid, press it to the bottom, ensure the snap feet are secured, insert terminals according to the electrical diagram, and turn on power after confirming correct operation. Batteries Replacement: Open the battery lid, pull all terminals from the batteries, remove the two M5 screws, and remove the fixing bracket and batteries. Install new batteries in reverse order, connecting terminals according to the electrical diagram. Due to transportation conditions, users must purchase the same model NPP 12V 9A batteries locally for replacement. General Maintenance Note: Before any maintenance, disconnect the charging plug and the tool power switch. Maintenance should be performed under the professional guidance of the manufacturer, service agent, or similar full-time personnel to avoid danger. Damaged machines, accessories, and packaging materials must be treated according to local environmental protection requirements. Storage: The product should be stored in a cool, dry, dust-free place, away from direct sunlight and rain. During transportation, loading, and unloading, avoid casting, dropping, throwing, trampling, or any other rough handling.
The product comes with a twelve (12) month warranty for workmanship, excluding wearing parts. The warranty period begins from the product purchase date and covers material quality and workmanship only. It does not cover issues caused by improper usage or operation not in accordance with the manual's specifications. Any modification or tampering with the product voids the warranty.
