The Super Handy Tugger is an electrically powered device designed for towing and transporting objects, and can also be used as a scooter. It is not a toy and requires careful adherence to safety procedures and warnings to prevent serious personal injury or death.
Function Description:
The Tugger serves a dual purpose: as a personal mobility scooter for alleviating traffic problems and as a towing device for trailers. It is designed for use on paved surfaces and is not suitable for off-road conditions or use in rain or snow. The device is controlled via a handlebar, accelerator knob, and forward/reverse switch. It features a seat, footplate, and a tow bar for connecting trailers.

Usage Features:
- Assembly: The Tugger requires assembly of the handlebar, rear wheels, shock absorbers, front wheel, tow bar connector, seat frame, seat, and tool box. Detailed instructions with diagrams are provided for each step.
- Handlebar Height Adjustment: The handlebar height can be adjusted by loosening a clamp, setting the desired height, and then tightening the clamp.
- Seat Position Adjustment: The seat position can be adjusted by disassembling and re-fixing four star-head bolts to the desired position.
- Tow Bar Connector Height Adjustment: The tow-bar connect kit can be adjusted to a suitable height by disassembling and reinstalling it with bolts and nuts.
- Tow Bar Connection: The tow bar is fixed to the connect kit using a coupling pin and an R pin to secure it. It is crucial to only tow objects from the provided hitch to prevent the tugger from rolling over.
- Pre-Operation Checks: Before operating, users must perform a general inspection to ensure all parts are undamaged, functions work normally, batteries and chargers are proper, and there are no safety hazards.
- Power On/Off: The device is powered on by turning the power switch to the "I" position and off by turning it to the "O" position.
- Battery Level Indicator: An LED indicator shows battery capacity: one LED for 0-40%, two for 40-70%, and three for 70-100%. A "soft" riding condition (lower speed) indicates a nearly depleted battery, signaling the need for recharge.
- Forward/Reverse Switch: A control knob allows switching between forward (upward push) and reverse (downward push) driving directions. A one-second delay is built in for electrical system protection. Reversing is only permitted when nothing is being towed.
- Accelerator: The accelerator knob, controlled by the right thumb, allows for gradual speed adjustment. Releasing the knob returns it to neutral, slowing the tugger to a stop.
- Turning: Users must slow down before turning, especially on slanted or uneven surfaces. If an inner rear wheel lifts off the ground, speed should be reduced, steering angle lessened, and the upper body shifted toward the lifting wheel.
- Brake & Parking: The left brake handle controls a mechanical disc brake on the right rear wheel, slowing the tugger to a stop. A parking brake at the front of the handle locks the right rear wheel for parking. Users should familiarize themselves with braking distances.
Maintenance Features:
- Charging: To charge, turn off the tugger, plug the charger into the charge port and power supply. A solid red light indicates charging, and a solid green light indicates a full charge. The battery can be ridden until fully discharged without damage.
- Brakes Maintenance:
- Regularly check the oil level in the oil cup and add brake oil if low.
- Replace brake pads if the brake is not functioning.
- Check for damage to the oil circuit and replace if necessary.
- Inspect oil pipe joints for leaks or looseness; replace gaskets or fasten bolts as needed.
- Safety Precaution: Hydraulic fluid is under pressure and can cause injury. Wear eye protection, avoid direct contact with fluid, and use cardboard to check for leaks.
- Battery Replacement: Only trained technicians should maintain, charge, or replace the battery. The power must be turned off, and the trailer removed before maintenance. Battery recycling must follow national regulations. Disconnect the battery connector before repairs not requiring battery power.
- Transportation: Use proper crane equipment or forklift to place the tugger on a vehicle. Securely fasten the tugger with strong lashing bands and use wedges to prevent accidental movement. Ensure no loose items are on the unit before hoisting.
- Storage: Park the tugger safely, turn off the power, keep it clear of foreign objects, and clean of grease/oil. Protect it from corrosion and dust. If lifting, ensure it cannot accidentally fall, move, or slide.
- Post-Storage Check: Before using after storage, inspect the electronic control system, battery power, brakes, tire pressure, and overall stability.
Troubleshooting:
A troubleshooting guide is provided for common issues:
- Scooter does not operate: Check if powered on, battery charged, hand brake engaged, battery locked, or main circuit broken.
- Scooter operates intermittently: Check for low battery capacity (soft riding), unlocked battery, or main circuit issues.
- Short ride time or runs slow: Check rider weight (do not exceed 275 lbs), if carrying heavy luggage, riding conditions (use on flat, dry surfaces), battery charge level, or battery age/damage.
- Scooter not stopped after actuating brake handle, or it is hard to actuate brake handle: Adjust the screw at the drum brake on both sides.
For unresolved issues, contact the local dealer or after-sales department.
Warranty:
The product comes with a twelve (12) month warranty covering workmanship, excluding wearing parts, from the purchase date. The warranty covers material quality and workmanship only and is voided by improper usage, non-compliance with manual specifications, modifications, or tampering.
