TROUBLE SHOOTING

Overview

The Super Handy Powered Mobility Scooter is an electrically powered personal transportation device designed to provide mobility for individuals with full use of their upper and lower extremities who can support themselves in an upright position. It is primarily intended for indoor use and limited outdoor use on hard, flat, and even surfaces such as concrete and asphalt. This product is not a medical device and is not intended to assist, treat, diagnose, or alleviate any medical condition or disability.

Function Description:

The scooter operates with a brushless hub motor powered by a detachable 48V, 2.0 Ah Li-ion battery. It features a manual drum brake on the right rear wheel, which also acts as a parking brake. The scooter can move forward and in reverse, controlled by a knob on the left handlebar. Speed is regulated by a thumb accelerator on the right handlebar. The device is foldable for compact storage and transport, with adjustable handlebar and seat heights to accommodate different users.

Usage Features:

  • Safety First: Users must be at least 16 years old. Only one person should ride at a time, and the maximum weight capacity should not be exceeded. Mounting and dismounting should only occur when the scooter is at a complete stop, on a level surface, with the parking brake engaged and power off.
  • Controls: The red knob on the left handlebar serves as the power switch (push on/off). The same knob controls forward (push upward) and reverse (push downward) driving directions. The right thumb control is the accelerator. The left brake handle actuates the mechanical drum brake and cuts power to the motor. A parking brake is integrated into the brake handle.
  • Adjustability: Both the handlebar and seat height are adjustable to ensure a comfortable and ergonomic riding position.
  • Folding Mechanism: The scooter is designed for easy folding. This involves releasing locking hasps, removing the seat, closing the foot pedal, and manipulating the folding clasp to turn the front wheel backward and secure it within the frame. The handlebar can also be lowered and, if necessary, removed for the smallest folded size.
  • Battery Indicator: A 3-LED display on the handlebar shows battery capacity: 3 LEDs (100%-70%), 2 LEDs (70%-30%), 1 LED (less than 30%). The battery itself also has a 4-LED indicator (1 LED: 0-40%, 2 LEDs: 40-70%, 3 LEDs: 70-85%, 4 LEDs: 85-100%).
  • Soft Riding Condition: When the battery is nearly depleted, the scooter may operate at a lower speed.
  • Optional Basket: An optional basket can be installed on the handlebar for carrying small items.
  • Pre-Ride Safety Check: Before each use, users should check tire condition, folding clasp lock, electrical connections, handlebar and seat security, brake operation, battery charge level, and ensure the parking brake is engaged.
  • Operating Environment: Intended for hard, flat, dry paved surfaces. Avoid wet, icy, uneven, or rough surfaces, potholes, puddles, and curbs. Do not operate in traffic, at night, or in poor visibility without proper lighting/reflectors.
  • Incline/Decline Operation: Approach inclines and declines straight on and at slow speeds. Shift upper body weight towards the handlebar when climbing. Use the brake to control speed when descending. Avoid sharp turns on inclines/declines.
  • Turning: Slow down significantly before turning, especially on slanted or uneven surfaces.
  • Indoor Use: Generally permitted in buildings, airports, malls, stores, and theaters. The scooter cannot fit through doors narrower than 24 inches (62cm).

Maintenance Features:

  • Battery Charging: The detachable Li-ion battery should be fully charged before first use and after long periods of non-usage. Charge in a clean, dry, well-ventilated area at room temperature, away from flammable materials. The charger has an LED indicator (red for charging, green for full) and overcharge protection. Frequent partial discharge/charge cycles prolong battery life.
  • Battery Storage: Store the battery on a full charge. If not in use for a long time, remove it from the scooter and periodically recharge it every 8 months. Keep it away from metal objects to prevent shorting terminals.
  • Cleaning: Keep the scooter dry. Clean dust and dirt with a wrung-out, damp rag; dry immediately. Do not use solvents or spray water directly onto the scooter.
  • Storage: Store the scooter indoors, out of the elements, at room temperature. Avoid direct sunlight or high-temperature environments.
  • Service: For service needs, contact customer service via the provided website or support line.
  • Brake Adjustment: The drum brake can be adjusted by tightening or loosening a screw if the brake handle is too hard or too soft to actuate.
