Install and operate the pump and check the system for leakage, make sure all connections are 100% waterproof. Leakage may
lead to an empty pond and cause harm to your sh and plants.
Check the water level in the lter and make sure it cannot overow.
Check monthly if UV lamp is lit through the control window in the cover (C-b).
Maintenance of the lter
Always disconnect from the mains supply before carrying out any maintenance!
Clean lter regularly, after rst installation. If your pond is heavily polluted, the lter sponges should initially be cleaned daily.
Remove the lter sponges and rinse them with clean tap water.
Depending on the grade of pollution, the lter should be ushed at least once a month with tap water.
Replace the lter sponges yearly.
Clean the Bio-Balls in a bucket lled with pond water to maintain bacteria life. Do not use tap water!
In the winter season, when the system is not used, the TopClear lter should be removed to avoid the risk of freezing.
Maintenance of the UVC-unit
Check monthly if UV lamp is lit through the control window in the cover (C-b).
Always disconnect from the mains supply before carrying out any maintenance!
The UVC device should be cleaned twice a year. As soon as algae growth increases, check the UVC device and UV-lamp and clean
the whole or exchange the UV lamp as needed.
The lamp is hot, wait 10 minutes after switch o before opening the unit.
Remove the protective cover of the UVC (D-c), by pulling it loose from the lter cover by the latch (D-d).
Slide the green switch lock (E-e) to unlock the unit head and housing.
Turn the unit head counter clockwise against the stop, then carefully pull it out of the housing (E-f).
Loosen the screw (F-g), remove the locknut (F-h). Pull o the quartz glass including the rubber gasket (F-j) by a slight rotary
movement (Tip: use work gloves).
Carefully clean the quartz glass outer face with a soft cloth and SuperFish Pump & UVC Clean. After cleaning, thoroughly rinse the
quartz glass with clean tap water and check for damage. Replace the quartz glass if it shows any damage (to prevent glass
breakage). Quartz glass replacement kit for the Pond Clear 3000 (Art. 06011300), for the Pond Clear 6000 (Art. 06011305) and for
the Pond Clear 12000 (Art. 06011310).
The UV-lamp should be replaced annually, as the lamp may still burn but no longer emits enough UV radiation (maximum 8000
operating hours). Replacement lamp for Pond Clear 3000: SuperFish UV Clear PL-lamp 5 watt, G23-105 mm (Art. 06011005), for
the Pond Clear 6000: SuperFish UV Clear PL-lamp 7 watt, G23-135 mm (Art. 06011010) and for the Pond Clear 12000: SuperFish UV
Clear PL-lamp 13 watt, G23-236 mm SP (Art. 06011023).
Remove the UV-lamp together with UV-tube clip (G-k) and tube protection ring (G-l) and remove the O-ring (G-m) from the unit
head. Clean the unit head and O-ring and put the O-ring back onto the unit head(G).
Insert the (replacement) UV-lamp with the clip and tube protection ring in the tting of the unit head.
Slide the quartz glass with the conical rubber gasket (H-j) gently over the UV-lamp and insert it in the unit head (grease the
outside of the rubber gasket with some pertoleum jelly).
Slide the locknut (I-h) over the quartz glass and tighten it rigidly onto the unit head until the recess is positioned over the screw
hole. This requires some force (use work gloves).
Place back the locking screw (I-g) to lock the locknut.
Place the unit head with the tted UV-lamp and quartz glass back into the housing. Turn it clockwise up to the stop and slide the
green switch lock to the housing (J).
Replace the protective cover of the UVC on the lter cover and snap it in place.
To avoid UVC overheating, unplug the lter from mains when no water is owing through the lter.
