Why does my Superior SLDVT-35NE pilot keep going out?
    • M
      michelle16Aug 22, 2025
If you're experiencing frequent pilot outages with your Superior Indoor Fireplace, it might be because the pilot flame is either too low or too high, causing the pilot/valve safety to shut off. To fix this, clean and/or adjust the pilot flame to ensure maximum flame impingement on the thermocouple.

What to do if pilot will not stay lit on Superior SLDVT-35NE?
    • J
      Joseph GriffithAug 30, 2025
If the pilot light won't stay lit on your Superior Indoor Fireplace after following the lighting instructions, it could be due to a defective pilot generator (thermocouple). Ensure the pilot flame is correctly impinging on the thermocouple. Clean and/or adjust the pilot for maximum flame impingement on the thermocouple. Also, make sure the connection between the valve and thermocouple is tight and secure.

Why is my Superior SLDVT-35NE Indoor Fireplace pilot burning but there's no gas to the burner?
    • N
      Natalie ValdezNov 7, 2025
If the pilot light is on, the valve knob is in the “ON” position, and the burner switch is also “ON,” but there's no gas to the burner, the possible causes are: * A defective wall switch or wiring: Inspect the wall switch and wiring for proper connections. You can use a jumper wire across the terminals at the wall switch; if the burner ignites, the wall switch is defective and needs replacement. If the switch is okay, use jumper wires across the wall switch wires at the valve; if the burner then ignites, the wires are faulty or the connections are poor. * Insufficient millivolts from the thermopile: Check the thermopile with a millivolt meter at the gas valve terminals. It should read a minimum of 325 millivolts with the optional wall switch in the “OFF” position. If the reading is be...

What to do if the spark igniter won't light the pilot on my Superior SLDVT-35NE Indoor Fireplace?
    • J
      James Carter Jr.Nov 14, 2025
If the spark igniter fails to light the pilot after repeatedly pressing the igniter button, consider these potential causes and solutions: * Defective igniter: Check for a spark at the electrode and pilot. If there's no spark and the electrode wire is properly connected, replace the igniter. * Defective or misaligned electrode: Light the pilot with a match. If it lights, turn off the pilot and try the igniter button again. If it lights, the gas mixture was likely improper, and a longer purge period is recommended. If it still won't light, check the gap at the electrode and pilot; it should be 1/8" for a strong spark. If the gap is correct, replace the pilot. * Incorrect gas supply pressure: Verify that the inlet gas pressure is within the limits specified on the rating plate. * Pl...
