E2 D Defender Ultra Specifications

Overview

The SureFire E2D Defender is a series of tactical LED flashlights designed for reliability, durability, and high performance. This series includes both single-output and dual-output models, offering versatile illumination solutions for various tactical and everyday carry needs.

Function Description:

The E2D Defender flashlights are primarily designed to provide powerful and consistent illumination. The single-output model, the E2D Defender Tactical, delivers a high-intensity beam suitable for identifying threats or navigating in dark environments. The dual-output model, the E2D Defender, offers both a high-output mode for maximum illumination and a low-output mode for extended runtime or less intense lighting needs, such as reading maps or preserving night vision. Both models feature a tactical tailcap switch for momentary-on and constant-on activation, allowing for quick and intuitive operation under stress. The lockout tailcap feature prevents accidental activation during storage or transport, conserving battery life and ensuring the flashlight is ready when needed.

Usage Features:

Lockout Tailcap (US Pat. RE40125):

Most SureFire illumination tools, including the E2D Defender series, incorporate a lockout tailcap. This feature is crucial for preventing unintentional activation, which can drain batteries or reveal your position.

  • To enable: Rotate the tailcap clockwise until the light activates when the pushbutton is pressed. This prepares the flashlight for immediate use.
  • To lock out: Rotate the tailcap counterclockwise until the light no longer activates when the pushbutton is pressed. This secures the flashlight for storage or transport.

Light Operation:

  • E2D Defender Tactical (Single-Output): Press or click the tailcap switch once to activate the 1,000-lumen output.
  • E2D Defender (Dual-Output):
    • For high output: Press or click the tailcap switch once.
    • For low output: Return the light to the off position, then press or click the switch again within two seconds. This allows for quick toggling between high and low modes.

Battery Replacement:

The E2D Defender series typically ships preloaded with batteries. To replace or load batteries:

  1. Unscrew the head counterclockwise and remove it from the body.
  2. Remove any old batteries and dispose of them properly according to local regulations.
  3. Insert two new 123A lithium batteries with the positive (+) terminals oriented forward (towards the head).
  4. Replace the head by screwing it back on clockwise until secure.

Battery Information & Warnings:

SureFire emphasizes the importance of using appropriate batteries. The use of substandard batteries can lead to injury or property damage.
