Overview

The SureFire G2X LE is a dual-output LED flashlight designed for reliable illumination, built with a focus on durability and user-friendly features. It is engineered and manufactured in America, utilizing high-quality components sourced globally to ensure a lifetime of service.

Function Description:

The primary function of the G2X LE is to provide versatile illumination through its dual-output LED. This means it can emit light at two different intensity levels, allowing users to select the appropriate brightness for various situations, from general tasks to situations requiring maximum light output. The flashlight is activated and controlled via a pushbutton tailcap switch, which is a common and intuitive interface for tactical flashlights.

Usage Features:

The G2X LE incorporates several features designed to enhance its usability and convenience:

  • Dual-Output Operation: The flashlight offers two distinct output levels. A single press or click of the pushbutton tailcap switch activates the high output for maximum brightness. To switch to the low output, the user returns the light to the off position and then presses or clicks the switch again within two seconds. This quick toggling allows for efficient adjustment of light intensity based on immediate needs, conserving battery life when full power is not required.

  • Lockout Tailcap: A key safety and convenience feature is the lockout tailcap. Most SureFire illumination tools, including the G2X LE, are equipped with this mechanism to prevent accidental activation. This is particularly useful during storage or transport, where an unintended light activation could drain batteries or reveal a user's position.

    • Enabling the Tailcap: To make the light operational, the user rotates the tailcap clockwise until it stops turning. Once enabled, the pushbutton can be pressed to activate the light.
    • Locking Out the Tailcap: To prevent activation, the user rotates the tailcap counterclockwise until the light will no longer activate when the pushbutton is pressed. This simple twist mechanism provides a secure way to ensure the flashlight remains off when not in use.
  • Battery Installation/Replacement: The G2X LE ships with two preloaded 123A lithium batteries. The process for loading or replacing batteries is straightforward:

    1. Unscrew the tailcap counterclockwise and remove it.
    2. Remove any old batteries and dispose of them properly.
    3. Insert new 123A lithium batteries, ensuring the positive (+) terminals are oriented forward.
    4. Replace the tailcap by screwing it on clockwise. After replacement, the pushbutton can be pressed (with the tailcap enabled) to test the light's function.
    • Important Battery Safety: The manual emphasizes the importance of using new 123A lithium batteries and warns against mixing new and old batteries. All batteries should be replaced at the same time to ensure optimal performance and prevent potential issues. Users are directed to SureFire's website for additional battery safety information.

Maintenance Features:

Proper maintenance is crucial for ensuring the longevity and optimal performance of the G2X LE. The manual outlines simple steps for routine care:

  • Cleaning: Users should use a clean, dry cloth to wipe off the body and the window of the flashlight. This helps remove dirt, dust, and debris that could accumulate during use, preserving the clarity of the lens and the overall appearance of the device.

  • Lubrication: Periodically, the threads and O-rings of the flashlight should be cleaned and lubricated. The recommended lubricant is a thin coat of non-migrating, silicone-based lubricant. This helps maintain the integrity of the O-rings, which are essential for water resistance and smooth operation of the tailcap. The manual specifically warns against using petroleum-based lubricants, as these can damage the O-rings. For more detailed maintenance tips, users are encouraged to visit SureFire's FAQ section on maintenance.

Warranty and Support:

SureFire stands behind its products with a "No-Hassle Guarantee." The company warrants its products against defects in material and/or workmanship for the lifetime of the original customer. Rechargeable batteries and chargers are covered for two years, and hearing-protection products for 90 days. The warranty does not cover consumables, normal wear-and-tear, or damage from abuse, alterations, unauthorized repairs, or use contrary to user manuals. For issues not covered by warranty, SureFire offers repair services at reasonable rates, with a quote provided for approval before work begins.

For warranty claims, customers can contact SureFire Customer Service to obtain a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number. The unit should then be carefully packaged and sent to SureFire's Repairs Department. SureFire covers the reasonable shipping costs for returning the repaired unit to the customer.

The device is designed for reliability and ease of use, with clear instructions for operation, battery management, and basic maintenance, ensuring that users can keep their SureFire G2X LE running smoothly for an extended period.
