Overview

This document describes the Svan SVRR090 Refrigerator, an instruction manual designed to ensure proper use and safety of the appliance. It covers various aspects from initial setup and operation to maintenance and troubleshooting.

Function Description

The Svan SVRR090 is a refrigerator designed for household and similar applications. It features a freezer room, a lamp with a temperature control knob, steel shelves, a crisper glass cover, a vegetable crisper, and door bars. The appliance is intended for storing food items, with specific compartments optimized for different types of food. The refrigerator compartment is suitable for general food storage, while the freezer room is designed for pre-frozen food, ice cream, and ice cubes. It is important to note that one-, two-, and three-star compartments are not suitable for freezing fresh food.

Usage Features

  • Temperature Control: The refrigerator's temperature can be manually adjusted using a knob. The number on the knob does not directly represent the temperature; rather, a higher number indicates a lower interior temperature. 'O' signifies off, and '7' represents the coldest temperature level. For normal operation, setting the knob to level 4 is recommended. If a lower interior temperature is needed, levels 4-6 can be used; otherwise, levels 4-1 are suitable.
  • Food Storage Guidelines:
    • The common refrigerating temperature for food is between 4°C and 8°C. Cooked meat should not be stored for more than 4 days, and fruits and vegetables for no more than a week.
    • For the chilling room, the temperature ranges from -1°C to 4°C, and meat should not be stored for more than 7 days.
    • Meat and seafood should be packed in different containers and stored for a maximum of 3 days.
    • Raw food and cooked food must be stored in separate containers to prevent bacterial contamination. Raw vegetables and fruits should not be exposed to raw meat or fish and should be wrapped in film and stored in the crisper.
    • Always ensure there is space between items for air circulation.
    • Food should be kept in sealed packages to prevent drying out or odor transfer.
    • Hot food must be cooled down before being placed in the appliance to avoid increasing interior temperature and energy consumption.
    • Reducing the frequency of door opening helps lower energy consumption.
  • Placement and Installation:
    • The refrigerator should be placed on a completely flat surface.
    • Maintain a clearance of 5-10cm between each side of the appliance and the wall, and 30cm between the top of the appliance and the ceiling.
    • Choose a location away from direct sunlight, high temperatures, or humidity to prevent staining.
    • The bottom panel should be pulled out before installation.
    • The appliance's stability can be adjusted by rolling its two front legs clockwise to raise the machine.
    • The location must be firm and flat to prevent noise and vibration. If the floor is not firm, a sheet can be placed under the appliance to solve heat emission if located on a carpet.
    • Ensure the adjustable legs are firmly on the floor and set the appliance to slope slightly backward to ensure doors close tightly.
  • Moving the Appliance:
    • Before moving, remember the position of each accessory, repack the product, and check it carefully.
    • Do not lift or pull the door or door handle during transportation.
    • When moving, the appliance should not be sloped more than 45 degrees from the vertical direction. Avoid strong vibration and impacts.
  • Power Outage and Vacation:
    • During a power failure, do not add more food and reduce door openings. If a power failure is anticipated, make ice and place it at the top of the fridge.
    • For short vacations, remove easily perishable food and close the door firmly.
    • For long vacations, remove all food, unplug the appliance, defrost, clean the interior, wipe it dry, and leave the door open to prevent odors.
    • If the refrigerator is to be stopped for a long time, unplug it, clean it, and leave the door open.
    • In general, avoid stopping the appliance as it can affect its lifespan. After unplugging, wait at least 5 minutes before resuming operation.

Maintenance Features

  • Regular Cleaning: The appliance should be maintained and cleaned frequently. Always pull the plug out of the socket before cleaning for safety.
  • Interior Maintenance: Clean the interior with clean water or a neutral detergent. Rinse with clean water and wipe dry with a cloth.
  • Door Gasket Maintenance: Door gaskets can be easily damaged by stains like oil or sauce, so clean them carefully.
  • Outer Maintenance: Wipe dusty surfaces with a dry cloth. Clean with a neutral detergent if necessary.
  • Defrosting: Defrosting is necessary when frost is 5mm thick, as heavy frost affects refrigeration efficiency and increases energy consumption.
    • To defrost, remove all food, drawers, and shelves from the compartment.
    • Unplug the power cord.
    • Open the doors and wait for the frost to thaw.
    • Wipe up the melted water with a dry cloth.
    • Important: Do not use any other equipment or methods to speed up the defrosting process, as this may damage the cooling system.
  • Interior Light Replacement:
    • Uninstall the cover and replace the light with a screwing light (E14, 220V/10W).
    • Move the lampshade 3-5mm in the direction of the arrow.
    • Take out the lampshade.
    • Rotate and take out the bulb in a counterclockwise direction.
  • General Notifications:
    • Do not splash water on the refrigerator, as it can cause oxidation and malfunction. Electronic components like the on/off button should be wiped dry.
    • Avoid using cleansers such as soap powder, abrasive cleaning powder, alkali cleansers, chemical cloth, thinner, alcohol, acid petroleum products, or hot water, as these can damage the painted cover and plastics.
    • Wipe up smears on interior plastic components as soon as possible.
    • After maintenance, check for damage to the electronic wire, ensure the plug fits reliably and smoothly into the socket, and check if the plug is heating unconventionally.

Troubleshooting Tips

The manual provides guidance for common issues:

  • Refrigerator not working: Check power supply (plug, power cut, fuse) and voltage.
  • Inefficient operation: May be caused by heavy frost, warm temperature settings, or frequent door openings.
  • Unusual noise: Could be due to imbalance, loose grounding, or resonation with ambient objects.
  • Compressor running for long periods: This can happen if the environment temperature is too high, doors are opened frequently or left open, or the temperature control knob is set to 4-7.
  • Disgusting odor: Ensure strong-smelling food is tightly packed. Check for deteriorated items or dirty liners.
  • Water leaks from the bottom: The drain tube might be jammed; use a proper tool to clear it.
  • Heavy frost on the rear: Caused by putting humid or hot food inside or high environmental moisture.

Not Malfunctions:

  • Moisture forming dew on the outside during humid seasons is normal and can be wiped away.
  • The flow of refrigerant through the pipeline coil can cause a "bicker" sound.
  • The sides of the product getting warm is normal due to the cooling pipeline working.
  • The appliance frame warming during operation is normal due to the defrost pipeline inside.

If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent, or similarly qualified persons to avoid hazards.
