License plate / Insurance
According to the new Elektrokleinstfahrzeug Verordnung (eKFV) of June 2019, the
scooter can be used in road trafc according to the StVZO with an age from 14 years.
Please register your scooter with an appropriate insurance policy. After receiving the
license plate, you can attach it to the license plate holder.
E-scooters with an eKFV approval are permitted on cycle paths, cycle lanes and cycle
paths. Only if these are missing may you switch to the roadway.
On the sidewalk, in pedestrian zones and in one-way streets against the direction of
travel, driving with the electric scooter is prohibited. It is permitted to drive on squares,
streets or paths marked with the additional sign “E-Scooter free”.
Important: The additional sign “Cyclist free” (characters 1022-10) does not apply to
drivers of electric scooters.
