be plugged into the household wall outlet
and to other components of your hi-fi sys-
tem without the need for internal settings.

FORMED BY SYNTHESIS DEALER
OR CERTIFIED SERVICE CENTRE.
To ensure your safety, always disconnect
the power cord from the main power line
before working on this equipment.
UNPAKING
To remove the equipment from its shipping
box, open and place it on the floor; remove
the polystyrene cover and take the unit with
both hands; pull it gently upwards until the
unit has cleared the box. Now place the
unit on a flat surface, slip off the clear plas-
tic bag. For the safety of children and pets,
only discard plastic bags in the correct man-
ner. The power cord included with your unit
is contained in the carton board box fitted in
the polystyrene cover. We recommend that
you keep the original shipping box and a
polystyrene covers, these guarantee optimal
protection if you need to transport your
equipment.

In addition to this manual, your Integrated
amplifier box includes the following mate-
rial:

• Remote control and batteries
• Power cord, meeting IEC specification
POWER LINE REQUIREMENTS
The unit is supplied with a separate power
cord, fitted at one end with an IEC standard
socket, and with a 10 A German "schuko"
plug on the other. Synthesis reserves the
right to supply other versions suitable for
the reference market.
Before inserting the IEC socket into its
recessed socket on the rear panel, check that
the power switch is turned off. The unit is
internally regulated to be connected to a
power supply with rated voltage as shown
on the plate located on the rear of the ampli-
fier.
To connect it to different voltages, request
the intervention of a SYNTHESIS
service center.
CONNECTING COMPONENTS
Connections with the rest of an audio sys-
tem do not have special limitations. Be sure
to use adequate cables and connectors, to
not degrade the high performances of this
equipment. We suggest to put line-level
analog cables far from any other power or
antenna connection to avoid possible noise.
PLACEMENT
The dissipation of generated heat by the
vacuum tubes and internal electronic com-
ponents is facilitated by taking advantage of
the convective currents created by hot air,
taking in fresh air from below the unit and
directing it upwards through the cooling
apertures on the top panel. This approach
limits the clearance required on the sides of
the unit but still requires an ample amount
of free space on the top and on the bottom
of the amplifier to allow the air to free cir-
culate.
