Overview

The Tanita DC-430MA Body Composition Analyzer is a medical device designed for comprehensive body composition analysis. It is available in two versions: a remote display version and a column-mounted version. The device is clinically proven to be accurate, reliable, and provides highly repeatable results, making it suitable for use by health, research, and medical professionals worldwide.

Function Description

The analyzer measures weight and impedance, and estimates various body composition parameters using Bioelectrical Impedance Analysis (BIA). These parameters include:

  • Body Mass Index (BMI): A measure of body fat based on height and weight.
  • Total Body Fat Percent and Weight: The proportion and mass of fat in the body.
  • Total Body Water Percent and Weight: The proportion and mass of water in the body.
  • Total Body Muscle Mass: The mass of muscle tissue.
  • Physique Rating: An assessment of body type.
  • Bone Mass: The estimated mass of bone minerals.
  • Visceral Fat Rating: An assessment of fat surrounding internal organs, with a healthy range indicated.
  • Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR): The minimum energy required by the body at rest.
  • Fat Free Mass (FFM): The mass of the body excluding fat.
  • Metabolic Age: An indication of the average age associated with the user's metabolic rate.

The device is indicated for use with healthy children aged 5-17 years old and healthy adults with active, moderately active, to inactive lifestyles. It is designed for simplicity, allowing measurements to be taken in under 30 seconds.
