In a live setting, getting a good monitor sound
can be extremely challenging. If you are fortu-
nate enough to have a dedicated monitor en-
gineer going from gig to gig with you, then you
probably aren’t reading this manual anyway – so
let’s get to the rest of us.
If you can’t hear yourself sing, play or speak, you
can’t perform at your best. Getting feedback (the
good kind) allows you to adjust your mix, your
pitch, intensity and many other facets of your
