2. HOW THINGS WORK
It’s important for your enjoyment and safety to
know how things work on your bicycle.
QUICK RELEASE (QR) MECHANISM
The bicycle quick release allows wheel removal
without the need for tools.
WARNING
Riding with an improperly adjusted wheel quick release can
allow the wheel to wobble or disengage from the bicycle,
causing damage to the bicycle and risk of a crash.
It is essential that you:
• Ask your bicycle retailer to show you how to
install and remove your wheels safely.
• Use the correct technique for clamping your
wheel in place with a quick release.
• Before you ride the bicycle, check that each
wheel is securely clamped.
