4.2.2 Optimum DAB+ reception
As with FM radio, reception of a DAB+ signal depends on your location. As a result of the fact that you are using the DIGITRADIO
Car 2 in your vehicle, it is possible that you will pass through areas where the DAB+ signal is very weak. In this way you will
receive the best-possible DAB signal, even with a poor range or weak signal strength:
Follow the installation instructions carefully.
Make sure that the magnetic earth connection on the reception unit is connected to the vehicle earth.
Use the 12 V adapter provided, because adapters from third party manufacturers could result in interference.
Switch o any other devices not being used in your vehicle. Devices such as satellite navigation systems and dash cams
could cause interference.
4.3 Installation instructions
The reception unit with antenna must always be mounted in a safe position in your vehicle. Do not install the
components in positions where they could impair safe operation of the vehicle, or which could impede triggering of
airbags or other safety provisions. Make sure not to route the cables and wires near the steering wheel.
> We recommend mounting the antenna and reception unit in the top corner of the windscreen on the passenger’s side.
> Install the antenna and reception unit in such a way that it is not located in the windscreen wiper area of the windscreen.
> Make sure that the antenna and the reception unit do not impair the driver’s view.
