Usage Features:
Control Panel and Remote Control:
The unit can be operated using the control panel on top of the appliance or the provided remote control.
- ON/OFF Button: Powers the unit on or off. Always press this button before unplugging to allow the appliance to perform a cycle of checks.
- Mode Button: Cycles through available modes: Cool, Fan, and Dry.
- Fan Button: Adjusts fan speed (High/Low) in Cool and Fan modes. Also used for USB charging function control (long press for 10 seconds).
- Increase/Decrease Buttons: Adjust target temperature in Cool mode or set timer duration.
- Timer Button: Activates the timer function for delayed start or shutdown.
- °C/°F Unit Switch Button (Remote Control): Toggles temperature display between Celsius and Fahrenheit (also accessible by holding Increase and Decrease buttons simultaneously on the control panel for 3 seconds).
- Swing Button (Remote Control): Note: This specific model (TPO29CFAT) does not have an auto-swing function; deflectors must be adjusted manually.
- Sleep Button (Remote Control): Reduces operation gradually for night use, maintaining optimum temperature with low fan speed. Not available in Fan or Dry modes.
Operating Modes:
- COOL Mode: Ideal for cooling and dehumidifying. Set target temperature (18°C-32°C) and fan speed (High/Low). Recommended room temperature is 24°C-27°C.
- FAN Mode: Circulates air without cooling. Air hose attachment is not required. Select fan speed (High/Low).
- DRY Mode: Reduces room humidity. Air exhaust hose must be attached to discharge moisture. Fan speed is automatically selected (default low speed).
Timer Function:
- Programming Start-up: Set desired mode/temperature/fan speed, then turn off the appliance. Press the Timer button, set the desired delay (1-24 hours), and the unit will start automatically after the set time.
- Programming Shut-down: While the appliance is running, press the Timer button, set the desired delay (1-24 hours), and the unit will turn off automatically after the set time.
Installation:
- Location: Place on a firm, level floor with at least 45cm clearance around and above the unit for efficient operation. Ensure it's within reach of a grounded power socket.
- Exhausting Hot Air: In Cool and Dry modes, connect the exhaust hose to the unit and affix the hose outlet to the window slider kit to vent warm air outside. Keep the hose as short and straight as possible to avoid bends or sags.
- Window Slider Kit: Designed for most standard vertical and horizontal windows. May require modification for specific window types.
Removing Collected Water:
The unit will stop running and display "FE" (FULL TANK) when the internal water tank is full.
- Manual Draining: Unplug the unit, remove the lower drain plug, and collect water in a pan. Replace the plug firmly after draining.
- Continuous Draining: Unplug the unit, remove the drain plug, and connect a drainage hose (1/2" or 12.7mm, if not supplied) to continuously drain water into a floor drain or bucket. Ensure the hose height is not higher than the drain outlet.
- Middle Drainage (Dry Mode): Similar to continuous draining, but uses a middle drain plug (fig A) and connects to a garden or drainage hose (fig B).
Maintenance Features:
Cleaning:
- Before Cleaning: Turn off the appliance and unplug it from the mains socket.
- Cabinet: Clean with a slightly damp cloth, then dry with a dry cloth. Do not use water, petrol, alcohol, solvents, or insecticide sprays.
- Air Filters: Clean weekly for efficient operation. Remove the evaporator from the back of the grid, vacuum dust, or wash with warm water (not hotter than 40°C/104°F). Dry thoroughly before reattaching.
Start-End of Season Operations:
- Start of Season Checks: Verify power cable and plug are undamaged, and the earth system is efficient.
- End of Season Operations: To completely empty the internal circuit, remove the cap (fig.12) and drain all water into a basin. Replace the cap, clean the filter, and dry thoroughly before storage.
Troubleshooting and Self-Diagnosis:
The appliance has a self-diagnosis system that displays error messages:
- LE (LOW TEMPERATURE / frost prevention): The unit is fitted with a frost protection device. It will automatically restart once defrosting is complete.
- PF (PROBE FAILURE / sensor damaged): Contact a local authorized service center.
- FE (FULL TANK / safety tank full): Empty the internal safety tank as described in the "End of season operations" paragraph.
General Troubleshooting:
- Appliance not coming on: Check power, plug, and internal safety device. Wait 30 minutes if the safety device tripped.
- Works for a short time only: Check for bends or obstructions in the air exhaust hose.
- Works but doesn't cool: Close windows/doors/curtains, eliminate heat sources, ensure air exhaust hose is properly fitted, and check if the room size exceeds the appliance's capacity.
- Unpleasant smell: Clean the air filter.
- Doesn't operate for 3 minutes after restart: This is a normal delay due to the internal compressor safety device.
