Function Description:

The Tefal DT8230 garment steamer is designed to quickly and effectively remove wrinkles from clothes using steam. Its heated soleplate helps to smooth out fabrics, while the continuous steam feature allows for uninterrupted steaming sessions. The device offers two steam modes: "Delicate" for lower steam output suitable for sensitive fabrics, and "Turbo" for higher steam output ideal for heavy fabrics and stubborn creases.

Usage Features:

Preparation:
- Unlock and remove the water tank.
- Remove the water inlet stopper.
- Fill the water tank with untreated tap water.
- Close the water inlet stopper and return the water tank to its place, ensuring it is fully set and locked.
- Hang your garment on a clothes hanger.
Powering On:
- Plug in and switch on the appliance.
- Wait until the light stops flashing. When the light is steady, the appliance is ready to use.
Steaming:
- Normal Steaming: Press the steam button with the appliance facing away from you, holding it in a vertical position. For optimal use, move the steam jets over your garment from top to bottom.
- Continuous Steam: Lock the steam trigger by pushing the locker switch down. To release it, push it up.
- Delicate Mode: Select this mode for a lower steam output, suitable for delicate textiles.
- Turbo Mode: Ideal for heavy fabrics and stubborn creases. To activate, push the steam button for more than 2 seconds. The boost lasts approximately 3 seconds and can be repeated up to 3 times per minute, every 20 seconds.
Accessories:
- Fabric Brush (9):* Opens the weaves of fabrics for better steam penetration.
- Steam Bonnet (10):* Protects garments from the heated plate; must be used for delicate fabrics.
- Crease Attachment (11):* Used to easily press trousers. Place the fabric between the two accessory parts and move the attachment downwards from the top.
- Micro-fiber Brush (13A, 13B):** Consists of a support and a micro-fiber. Wrap the micro-fiber around the support, release steam, and gently scrub the textile with up and down movements to remove impregnated dust.
- Lint Pad (14):* Used to remove animal hair and lint from textiles.
- Door Hook (12):* Allows you to hang your garment for steaming.
- Travel Bag (15):* Can be used to store the appliance. Unplug the appliance and allow it to cool down for one hour before storing.
Standby/Auto-Off Mode:
- For safety, the appliance is fitted with either a standby monitoring system or an auto-off system.
- The standby system activates after approximately 8 minutes of non-use, with the ON/OFF button flashing slowly. Press the ON/OFF button once to reactivate.
- The auto-off system shuts off the appliance after approximately 8 minutes of non-use. Press the ON/OFF button once to reactivate.
Switching Off:
- Press and hold the On/Off button for 3 seconds to switch the appliance off.
- Unplug the appliance.

Maintenance Features:

After Use:
- Unlock and remove the water tank.
- Empty the water tank completely.
- Return the water tank to its place, ensuring it is fully set and locked.
- Wait for one hour for the appliance to cool down before storing.
Cleaning:
- Use only a dry cloth to clean the appliance. Do not use any detergent products.
- Never wash or rinse the appliance directly over a sink.
- To clean the micro-fiber brush, remove the micro-fiber from its support and follow the instructions on the micro-fiber label for proper cleaning.
Easy Descaling:
- Perform this operation in a vented room.
- Unlock and remove the water tank.
- Fill the water tank with 50% water and 50% white vinegar. Do not use other descaling products.
- Return the water tank to its place, ensuring it is fully set and locked.
- Plug in and switch on the appliance, then wait until the light stops flashing.
- Put the steam trigger in the locked position. Place the product on a flat, stable, horizontal, and heat-resistant surface.
- Allow the appliance to run until the water tank has completely emptied.
- Unplug the appliance and pull the water tank out.
- Remove the water inlet stopper and fill the water tank with untreated tap water.
- Return the water tank to its place, ensuring it is fully set and locked.
