Why is water leaking from my TEFAL PRO EXPRESS Iron?

  If water is running through the holes in the soleplate of your TEFAL Iron, several factors could be at play. First, ensure that the iron is sufficiently heated by waiting for the thermostat light to go out before using the steam control button. If it's the first time using steam or if the iron hasn't been used for a while, water may have condensed in the pipes; press the steam control button away from your ironing board until steam is produced. Also, avoid overuse of the turbo steam function, which can cool down the iron; allow the thermostat light to cycle on and off before using it again. Finally, when ironing at low temperatures, decrease the steam output using the steam output control dial on the control panel.

  If you notice white streaks coming through the holes in the soleplate of your TEFAL Iron, it's likely due to scale buildup in the boiler from infrequent rinsing. To resolve this, rinse out the boiler after every 10 uses, especially when the orange indicator light flashes. If you have hard water, increase the frequency of rinsing.

  If the thermostat light and the on/off switch are not illuminated on your TEFAL Iron, it indicates that the appliance is not switched on. To resolve this, check that the iron is correctly plugged in and press the illuminated on/off switch located on the side of the base unit.
