b. Familiarise yourself with the machine before using it for the first time. If you are not familiar with the
functions of a pillar drill, get professional support. An instruction by an experienced and trained person is
strongly recommended.
c. Minimum age. The minimum age requirement of the operator of the machine is 16 years.
d. Residual risks. Even if the machine is used in accordance with the instructions, there is a risk of injury from
workpieces or chips being ejected, a risk of injury from rotating tools and drill chucks, a risk of injury from
dust and noise and a risk of electric shock if the cabling is defective.
e. Wear suitable clothing.
Rotating parts can be dangerous. Clothing, jewellery and long hair can get caught in the rotating parts. Therefore,
do not wear loose clothing or jewellery and use a head covering or hairnet. Do not wear gloves when working
on the machine, as they could get caught when drilling. Wear protective footwear and make sure the floor is non-
slip.
f. Do not work in damp, dark and dangerous environments. The pillar drill is designed exclusively for indoor
use. Protect the machine from humid or damp locations and do not expose it to wet conditions. Ensure
adequate lighting and ventilation of the workplace. Avoid areas with explosive atmospheres. Failure to comply
with these rules may result in warranty loss.
g. Keep the workplace clean. Untidy work areas and tables can lead to accidents. Do not switch on the pillar
drill until all objects (tools, pieces of wood, etc.) have been removed from it. Keep the immediate work area
and floor free from dirt and cutoffs. Accumulated sawdust is a fire and accident risk.
h. In the event of a power failure, the tool will no longer be braked. It may take some time for the tool to
completely stop rotating.
i. Prevent the device from starting unintentionally. Make sure that the main switch is in the "OFF" position
when you connect the drill to an earthed socket.
j. Never leave the machine running unattended. Only leave the machine once it has been switched off and
has come to a standstill.
k. Use the correct tools. Only use suitable tools or accessories. Avoid unnecessary force being placed on the
tools. Keep the drill bits in good condition. Sharp and clean tools guarantee best results and minimise the risk
of injury. Ensure that the tool is in the correct position to the workpiece.
l. Ensure that you are standing securely (foot position, balance). Never climb on the machine.
m. Make sure there is enough space to work around the machine. Untidy work surfaces and floors can lead
to injuries.
n. Use only original accessories and follow the steps described in the user manual. Using accessories from
other manufacturers may result in injuries.
o. Do not operate the pillar drill until it is completely assembled and installed.
p. If it is necessary to replace the fuse, the machine must be disconnected from the power supply. Pull the
plug out of the socket.
q. Check the settings with the machine switched off. If necessary, turn the workpiece by hand to check the
clearance before switching on the machine. Check that the correct speed is set before switching the machine
on.
r. Do not open any covers or switches.
s. Do not make adjustments when the spindle is turning.
t. Tighten all clamp handles, before operating the machine.
u. Only operate the pillar drill at the recommended speed. Use the reference table in these instructions.
v. Never operate the pillar drill if any operating or attachment parts are missing, damaged or broken.
w. Keep the safety devices in place.
x. Secure your workpiece (e.g. with bar clamps). A loose workpiece can turn into a dangerous projectile and
cause serious injuries. Never work freehand.
