can be obtained only throughout
amplitude range of applied trigger
signal. When the LEVEL control is
outside the amplitude range, when
the trigger repetition rate is below
the lower frequency limit or when
the trigger signal is inadequate, the
sweep free runs at the sweep rate
selected by the TIME/DIV switch
to produce a reference trace.
