Hyper Terminal Settings (assumes Windows 95 or newer)
Select the connect using box and set to your serial port (usually COM1)

Select OK
You will automatically be taken to COM1 properties window
Select the following settings
Bits per second = 9600
Data bits = 8
Parity = None
Stop Bits = 1
Flow control = Hardware
