Quick Installaon Guide
MODEL TVB-100
Use this step by step guide to connect your media device
Television
Insert the HDMI cable into the HDMI socket on
the back of the TVB-100. Next, connect the other
end of the cable to the HDMI socket on your TV.

Insert the power supply unit into the wall socket
and the small round plug from the power supply
unit into the power socket on the back of the
TVB-100. You can now power up the TVB-100
by pressing the POWER ON/OFF buon on the
TVB-100.

Remove the baery cover on the Remote Control
Unit. Insert 2 x AAA baeries into the Remote
Control Unit. (See opposite page for instrucons)

Aer switching the power on, the LED on the front panel of the TVB-100
will change colour from red to blue. The Telkom LIT start-up screen will
appear on the TV followed by the home screen. You now have to connect
the TVB-100 to your router. You have 2 possible opons. Connect the
TVB-100 via the Ethernet cable (4a below), or via Wi-Fi (4b below) if your
router is not located near your TV.
* We however always recommend connecng with an Ethernet cable.

Connect an Ethernet cable (not supplied) between the Ethernet socket
on the back of the TVB-100 to any free LAN port on the back of your
router.
If you will be using Wi-Fi you will be required to set-up the Wi-Fi network.
Select Settings at the top right-hand side of the screen and then scroll
down to select your Network. Next enter the password. If your Network
does not appear on the list, scroll down and select See all.

IMPORTANT NOTICE:
We use over the air updates to continually improve your viewing experience. You may
therefore experience a delay in set-up when using the TVB-100 for this first time while
we upload the latest version of firmware. If you do not allow this download, you may
not have the latest version of Android TV, which may limit your viewing experience.
You can also ask Google Assistant to open your favourite app or give
Google Assistant a more specific command. For example search for a
specific arst or video on YouTube.

The TVB-100 is an Android TV Box designed to enhance your television viewing experience by providing access to a wide range of streaming services, apps, and smart features. It functions as a media device that connects to your TV, transforming it into a smart TV with Android TV capabilities.

Usage Features:

Quick Installation:

The installation process is straightforward, designed for user convenience.

1. HDMI Connection: Connect the supplied HDMI cable from the TVB-100's HDMI socket to an HDMI socket on your television.
2. Remote Control Setup: Insert 2 x AAA batteries into the Remote Control Unit, ensuring correct polarity.
3. Power Connection: Insert the power supply unit into a wall socket and connect the small round plug to the power socket on the back of the TVB-100. Power up the device by pressing the POWER ON/OFF button on the TVB-100.
4. Internet Connection:
   • Ethernet (Recommended): Connect an Ethernet cable (not supplied) from the TVB-100's Ethernet socket to any free LAN port on your router.
   • Wi-Fi: If using Wi-Fi, navigate to Settings on the TV screen, select "Network," and choose your Wi-Fi network. Enter the password to connect. If your network isn't listed, select "See all" to find it.
5. Initial Boot-up: After power-on, the LED on the front panel will change from red to blue. The Telkom LIT start-up screen will appear, followed by the home screen.
6. Firmware Updates: The device supports over-the-air (OTA) updates to continually improve the viewing experience. During the first-time setup, there might be a delay as the latest firmware version is uploaded. It is crucial to allow these downloads to ensure you have the latest Android TV version and optimal viewing experience.

Remote Control Unit Features:

The included Remote Control Unit provides intuitive navigation and control over the TVB-100.

• POWER ON/OFF: Turns the device on or off.
• CURSOR (UP, DOWN, LEFT, RIGHT): Used to navigate between menu options and channels.
• OK/ENTER: Confirms selections or enters functions.
• BACK/RETURN: Returns to the previous page or function.
• HOME: Takes you back to the Android TV home page.
• VOLUME +/-: Adjusts the audio volume.
• APPS: One-touch access to your installed applications.
• YOUTUBE: Direct access to the YouTube application.
• NETFLIX: Direct access to the Netflix application.
• GOOGLE PLAY: Direct access to the Google Play Store.
• GOOGLE ASSISTANT: Activates voice commands for controlling the TVB-100, opening apps, or searching for content (e.g., "open Netflix," "search for a specific artist on YouTube").

Home Screen Navigation:

Use the LEFT, RIGHT, UP, and DOWN arrows on the Remote Control Unit to move across channels and favorite apps. Press OK to select.

Android TV Remote App:

For enhanced control, you can use your smartphone or tablet as a Remote Control Unit.

• Setup: Both the TVB-100 and your mobile device must be connected to the same network. During setup, the TVB-100 will prompt you to register your device by entering a PIN.
• Download: Pre-load the "Android TV (by Google)" app from the iOS App Store or Google Play Store.
• Compatibility: Android TV is designed for a superior user experience. While older Android operating systems supported mobile phone apps on set-top devices, the Remote Control Unit and Android TV Remote app may not support all functionalities of these older apps. In some cases, a separate Remote Control, such as an Airmouse, might be needed for full functionality with certain apps.

Installation Diagram Overview:

The provided installation diagram illustrates all possible connection options, though not all cables are supplied. Users are advised to purchase additional cables from electronics stores if needed. The recommended connection method is shown on the opposite page (referring to the main installation steps).

Maintenance Features:

• Over-the-Air (OTA) Updates: The device is designed to receive continuous firmware updates to improve performance and viewing experience. It is crucial to allow these updates during initial setup and subsequent notifications to ensure the device runs the latest version of Android TV and maintains optimal functionality.
• Battery Replacement: The remote control requires 2 x AAA alkaline batteries. Regular replacement of batteries when they run low ensures uninterrupted control of the device. Ensure correct polarity when inserting new batteries.
