Operation -2
Points to remember when grilling:
Use a metal grill rack (supplied) so that food can drain.•
Do not overload the grill rack. Space the food out.•
Brushing the grill rack very sparingly with vegetable oil will stop •
food adhering to it and make washing up easier.
Always stand the grill rack in a heatproof ceramic dish. This will •
catch drips and help keep the oven clean.
Do not use the grill without the turntable in place. The turntable •
helps the food to cook evenly.
When removing or turning over food use heatproof tongs.•
When removing or inserting the provided grill rack into a hot •
oven use a suitable heatproof implement or oven gloves.
CAUTION:
When you use the grill , the cooking utensils and the interior of
the oven get very hot, much hotter than when you are using the
oven as a regular microwave.
Always stir food with long handled implements, tongs, etc.
Always use oven gloves when removing or placing utensils in
an oven where the grill or convection ovenhas recently been on.
When you set utensils down on a surface make sure it is heatproof
or use an insulating mat.
After use allow an extra long period for the oven to cool down
before cleaning or re-use.
Never touch the top surface of the oven when the grill is on and
do not stand anything on the oven.
Combination cooking
This oven has three pre-programmed settings that make it easy to
cook automatically with various combinations of convection, grill
and microwave cooking.
Open the door. Place the food in a suitable heatproof ceramic •
utensil. Follow the guide on Page 3. Do NOT use the metal grill
rack or any metal dish. Close the door.
Select a Combi cooking program with the Power Selector.•
Select a suitable time with the Timer. The oven will start.•
At regular intervals, open the door and inspect the food. If •
necessary turn it to ensure it cooks evenly all over. Close the door
to continue.
When the set program time has nished:
The timer will set itself to ‘0’ and the oven will switch o. The bell •
will ring indicating cooking has stopped.
Leave the food to stand for a minute or two before opening •
the door and removing the food . Your recipe will indicate the
appropriate waiting time. As the container will be hot, use oven
gloves if needed.
If the food is insufciently cooked, return it to the oven and set •
the timer to add the necessary time.
If you end the cooking before the set time period has elapsed, •
you must return the timer to ‘0’ to prevent the oven running
when empty. Running an oven empty is dangerous.
NOTE: Cooking a whole chicken with the Combi. 3 program:
If the chicken is frozen, defrost it fully before cooking it.
Cook the chicken thoroughly. When the cooking cycle is over use
a skewer to deeply pierce the chicken body at the leg joints. When
withdrawn, the skewer should be clear. If there is the slightest trace
of blood, return the chicken to the oven and continue cooking until
the bird is fully cooked.
