Place the air pump outside the aquarium on a dry, clean, and even surface above water level.
Address unusual noise by adjusting pump placement or re-routing airlines to prevent resonance.
Check fuses and electrical connections if the unit is not working.
Check and replace the air inlet filter felt pad if it is dirty to maintain airflow.
Replace worn or split diaphragms using a replacement kit after accessing the unit's interior.
