*If the TKS sy stem has been operat ed or the panels have bee n mo isten ed in t he la st 30 days, the purge of
the panels in Step 11 (Step 11B t hru St ep 11B(13 2)) is not required for 208B 5004, 208B5005, 208B5008,
208B5009, 208B5011, 208B5016, 208B5017, and 208B5019.
NOTE: Upon delivery to the customer after the i nstallation of this service bulletin, the T KS system in the
airplane sh ould c ontain only new and not refiltered TK S fluid.
1. Prepare the airplane for ma intenanc e as follo ws:
A. Electrically ground the airplane.
B. Make sure that all swi tches are in the OFF /NO RM position.
C. Disconne ct electrical power from the airplane.
(1) Disconnect t he airplane battery.
(2) Disconnect ext ernal electrical power.
D. Attach maintenance wa rn ing tags to the battery and ex terna l power rec ept ac le that have "DO NOT
CONNECT ELECTRICAL POWER - MAINTENANCE IN PROGRESS" writtenonthem.
E. Obey t he general caution s, w arnings, and instructions th at fo llow when you in stall or work near
the ice protection system:
