There Are Correct Flow Char acteristics
Is there enough fluid in the test cart ? Add fl uid to the test cart as nec es s ary
Wipe leading edge with paper towel to even
out the fl uid flow
If flow still uneven, use an approved
proced ure to clean the dry spo ts
Are there correct flow characte ristics f or the
porous panel? If no,
Do the panel pu rge again
Does the fluid leave the test cart c orrec t ly?
If no,
Repair or repl ace the t es t cart as necessary
Are there kink s or objects in th e tubin g that
block the flow? If yes,
Replace the t ubing as necess ary
Do a water pane l purge as follows:
1. At tach a w ater line to the water inlet
port and a s hop air line to the air inlet
port on the purge cart
2. Con nec t the purge tank lines to the
panel you will purge
3. Turn th e sele ctor lever t o the WATER
position on the purge cart
4. Turn the wat er valve
counterclock wise until the pressure
gauge s hows 50 psi
5. Af ter water begins to flow from
the panel, let the water flow for 30
minutes
6. Turn the purge cart selector lever to
AIR
7. Adju st the air pressure t o 15 psi
8. Purge the entire system with the a ir
for 10 t o 15 minutes to dry out t he
panels
Are there correct flow characte ristics f or the
porous panel? If still no,
Do the panel purge of th e porous panel with
the T KS fl uid again
Are there correct flow characte ristics f or the
porous panel? If still no,
Replace the porous panel
NOTE: To get an even flow over the panel it may be nec es s ary to lightly run a dry cloth or
paper towel over the l eading e dge and/or the dry spots of the panel during purging.
(12) Make sure that there is no leakage at th e tube connections and around the peri meter o f t he
panel.
(13) Stop t he fluid supply.
(14) Wait until the fluid pressure is releas ed.
(15) Slowly disconnect the test cart fluid supply tube from the left inboard wing porous panel.
