Data Logging
Perhaps the most important tool the unit has for fault finding should one develop is the data
logging. There are two types of data logging there is a time log say every 60 seconds and
there is an event log. The event log takes a snap shot every time there is an event such as a
compressor starting both are useful in different ways
The controller is monitoring and logging at all time against a time stamp
· Water temperatures both the storage tank temperature and the temperature in the
heat pumps condenser
· On the THW20, THW40 and THW60 units it is monitoring the suction and discharge
pressures of the system. On the HP80 and HP100 the suction pressures are
monitored and the discharge temperatures are monitored
· When the compressor turns on and off
· Any faults as they are latched
· A snap shot of the parameter settings in the unit at down load time
The data can be downloaded two ways firstly by placing a USB key into the USB slot on the
rear of the controller. Then on the keypad go to the parameters menu and press OK, scroll to
the Data/ Logs menu and scroll to the choice that suits an option for example is Time Log
to USB press OK and the data will start downloading the screen will flash USB
download and then download complete. The USB key will now have an Excel file on it
which can be opened and the data examined as per any Excel sped sheet one thing to
remember is the data at the top of the file is the newest data. On the USB flash drive there will
be a file AQUA and the excel file will be in here.
The second way of downloading the data is via the webpage to the advanced tab on the
webpage and then to the download tab the drop down list will then give you the option of
downloading the files.
The controller will ask you to save the file somewhere.
The shorter the download period then the less memory the controller has in rough figures, if
the data logging period is seconds then the controller can store approximately hours of data.
For every 10 seconds that is added to this it will stretch out the download time by day
