FUNCTION CHARACTERISTICS

Operating logic and settings
According to the mode selected the operating logic is as follows:
Mode 0, two live sections
Based on the measurement of the frequency difference, the device checks if the grids are synchro-
nous or asynchronous
Synchronous grids
The output relay is energized (sync ok) when conditions the following conditions are met:
the activation signal (keyboard, logic input or communication) is active,
the blocking input signal (keyboard, binary input or communication) is inactive,
the circuit breaker is open,
the V
1
and V
2
input controls (fuses, MCB breakers, 74VT element) are ok,
the two measured frequencies are in the (f
n
± f
RANGE
) range for an adjustable time t
STAB
,
the difference, that defines the condition of synchronous grids, between the two measured fre-
quencies is lower than an adjustable threshold (df-
GRID
), for an adjustable time t
STAB
,
the value of the controlled voltages is between a minimum threshold (V
min-SYNC
) and a maximum
threshold (V
max-SYNC
), both adjustable, for an adjustable time t
STAB
,
the difference between the V
1
and V
2
voltages (with V
1
> V
2
) is lower than an adjustable threshold
(dV12
-SYNC)
, or the difference (with V
1
< V
2
) is below an adjustable threshold (dV21
-SYNC
), for an
adjustable time t
STAB
,
the phase shift between V
1
and V
2
(with V
2
lagging V
1
) is lower than an adjustable threshold
(dp12
-SYNC
), or the phase shift (with V
1
lagging V
2
) is lower than an adjustable threshold (dp21
-SYNC
),
or an adjustable time t
STAB
,
the conditions listed above should be maintained at least fon an adjustable value (t
SYNC
).
In the absence of one or more of the conditions listed above the closing command is not issued.
Aynchronous grids
In the case of asynchronous grids (eg, two separate distribution grids), the output relay is energized
(sync ok) after the successfully checks between the amplitude and frequency measurements.
The closing command is issued in advance of the condition corresponding to zero phase, when the
phase shift measured equals to the value calculated according to the delays (relay + CB closing time)
and of the frequency difference of the two grids (slip frequency).
Thus the closure of the CB contacts occurs in conditions of perfect synchronism.
If there is a power transformer between the two voltage inputs the differences in amplitude and
phase on the two sides must be compensated. The compensation can be performed externally (with
voltage transformers) or internally (sw compensation).
The compensation sw is programmable by parameter
V1-V2Phasecorrection available inside the
Set \ Base menu, which compensates for the phase shift without external interposing transformers.
In the absence of the power transformer or with external adapters the
V1-V2Phasecorrection
must be set to zero.
2
Mode 1 or 2
Synchro-check between live busbars (V1) and dead line (V2) - (Mode 1) or between dead busbars
and live line (Mode 2).
The output relay is energized (sync ok) when the following condition are simultaneously verified:
the activation signal (keyboard, logic input or communication) is active,
the blocking input signal (keyboard, binary input or communication) is inactive,
the circuit breaker is open,
the U
L1
and U
L4
input controls (fuses, MCB breakers, 74VT element) are ok,
the voltage value relative to the powered plant section is between a minimum threshold (V
min-SYNC
)
and a maximum threshold (V
max-SYNC
), both adjustable, for an adjustable time t
STAB
,
the voltage value relative to the dead plant section is lower than an undervoltage threshold
(V
1
<
SYNC
or V
2
<
SYNC
). In the case of polyphase connection to the reference input (V1), all three
voltages (selection AND) must be above the threshold (V
min-SYNC
) so that the side V1 is recognized
as powered. For single-phase connection, of course only the connected voltage must be higher
than this threshold,
the measured frequency of the powered section is in the (f
n
± f
RANGE
) range for an adjustable time
t
STAB
,
