Usage Features:

The multi-tool features an SDS clamping lever for quick and easy attachment changes. It includes a speed dial (4) to limit the maximum speed, allowing adjustment according to the application. Turning the speed dial right increases the maximum speed, while turning it left decreases it. The on/off switch (2) slides forward to switch the product on and backward to switch it off.

Tool Attachments:

The TTB892MLT supports various tool attachments:

  • Sanding base plate (7) & sanding paper (11): Available in different grain sizes (grit) for various materials. Coarse ( < 80 grit) for paint/varnish removal and rough surfaces. Medium (80-120 grit) for face sanding and planning small irregularities. Fine ( > 180 grit) for finishing, cleaning plaster, and water stain from wood. Sanding papers are attached via a hook-and-loop system. The sanding base plate can be adjusted at 30° intervals around the tool holder (6) from 0° to 360° to utilize unworn corners/edges of the sanding paper.
  • Plunge saw blade for wood (8): Used for separating or flush/plunge saw cutting in wood, plastic, and drywall, especially in corners and hard-to-reach areas.
  • Segment saw blade (9): Suitable for cutting wood.
  • Plunge saw blade for metal (10): For cutting sheet metal or copper tube.
  • Scraper (12): Used for scraping paint & varnish, bonded carpet, soft adhesives, vinyl flooring, wood, and other floor coverings on hard surfaces.

Attachment and Adjustment:

To attach an accessory, open the SDS clamping lever (1) fully, slide the desired attachment onto the SDS tool holder (6) ensuring grooves align with pins, and then close the clamping lever. For the scraper (12) and plunge saw blades (8 or 10), the angle can be adjusted within a range of -90° to +90°. The segment saw blade (9) should only be adjusted at 0°. An included tool holder adaptor (14) with fixing parts (13, 13a) allows the use of compatible accessories from other brands that cannot be attached to the quick-changing tool holder (6).

Operation:

Before use, ensure the product and accessories are undamaged and properly fixed. Keep the gripping surface dry and clean. Ensure air vents are unobstructed. If disturbed, switch off the product immediately. Always maintain a firm grip and keep the product moving during operation to avoid grooves and ensure even results.

  • Sanding: Apply light pressure and guide the product evenly. Replace worn sanding papers immediately. Do not use sanding paper that has been used on metal for sanding wood, as metal particles can cause scratches.
  • Scraping: Adjust the scraping angle according to the material. Keep the product at a flatter angle for soft materials to prevent cutting into the workpiece.
  • Cutting: Mark the cutting line and clamp the workpiece. Align the saw blade without touching the surface. Switch on the product, then apply light pressure to guide the blade into the workpiece. For plunge cutting with blades (8/10), lift and repeat steps. For segment saw blade (9), apply light pressure in the cutting direction and move forward evenly. Only perform plunge cutting into soft materials like plasterboard or wood; never into hard materials like metal. Use appropriate saw blades and cutting oil for metal.

Maintenance Features:

Always switch off the product, disconnect it from the power supply, and allow it to cool before performing any inspection, maintenance, or cleaning.

  • General Cleaning: Keep the product clean by removing debris after each use. Use a dry cloth and a brush for hard-to-reach areas. Clean the air vents (3a) after every use. Remove stubborn dirt with compressed air (max. 3 bar). Do not use chemical, alkaline, abrasive, or other aggressive detergents or disinfectants.
  • Inspection: Inspect the product before each use for worn or damaged parts. Do not operate if broken or worn parts are found.
  • Power Cord: If the power cord is damaged, it must be replaced by a specially prepared supply cord available through the service organization.
  • UK Plug (for UK only): If a fitted plug needs replacement, connect the blue wire to the N (Neutral) terminal and the brown wire to the L (Live) terminal. Never connect live or neutral wires to the earth terminal (E). Use an approved BS 1363 or BS 1363/A plug with a correctly rated BS 1362 5 Amp fuse.

Additional Safety Warnings for Construction Dust:

Construction workers are at risk from silica dust. Silica is a natural mineral present in large amounts in things like sand, sandstone and granite. It is also commonly found in many construction materials such as concrete and mortar. Silica is broken into very fine dust (also known as Respirable Crystalline Silica or RCS) during many common tasks such as cutting, drilling and grinding. Breathing in very fine particles of crystalline silica can lead to lung cancer, silicosis, and Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD). The COSHH Regulations set limits on dust exposure. Reduce the amount of cutting by using the best sizes of building products, using a less powerful tool, and using a different method of work. Always work with approved safety equipment, such as dust masks designed to filter out microscopic particles and use dust extraction facilities.

Electromagnetic Fields:

This product produces an electromagnetic field during operation. Consult a doctor or medical implant manufacturer if you have active or passive medical implants.

Health Surveillance:

All employees should be part of an employer's health surveillance scheme to help identify any vibration-related diseases at an early stage, prevent disease progression, and help employees stay in work.
