Overview

The S100 Call module is an optional function designed for the S100 stairlift, enabling communication via a landline with up to three pre-programmed telephone numbers. This feature is particularly useful in emergency situations, providing a means for the stairlift user to contact assistance. The module also allows for the acceptance of incoming calls, enhancing its utility as a communication device.

Function Description:

The primary function of the S100 Call module is to facilitate two-way communication from the stairlift. It operates by connecting to a landline, allowing the user to initiate outgoing calls to pre-set numbers and receive incoming calls. This capability ensures that users can reach out for help or stay connected while using the stairlift. The module is integrated into the stairlift's design, with the alarm button serving as the primary interface for call management.

Usage Features:

  • Making a Call: To initiate a call, the user presses and holds the yellow alarm button for 4 to 7 seconds. Upon hearing a dial tone, the button is released, and its light turns green, indicating an active call attempt. Communication then occurs by speaking in the direction of the alarm button.
  • Disconnecting a Call: A call can be ended by pressing and holding the yellow alarm button for 4 to 7 seconds. The alarm button light will turn off, signifying the end of the call. The person on the other end of the line can also terminate the call.
  • Choosing the Next Number: If a connection to the first pre-programmed contact fails, the user can attempt to reach the next number in the sequence. This is achieved by briefly pressing the yellow alarm button once during the call attempt. This action will prompt the module to dial the subsequent pre-programmed number. A crucial note is that if a contact's number redirects to voicemail, the user must also briefly press the yellow alarm button once to proceed to the next number.
  • Accepting Incoming Calls: When an incoming call is detected, the Call module will produce a ring tone. To answer the call, the user briefly presses the yellow alarm button once. Once the connection is established, communication can begin by speaking towards the alarm button. To end an incoming call, the user presses the yellow alarm button for 1 second.

Important Technical Specifications:

The S100 Call module is identified with Manufacturing part number M/N 1122596. It is designed to be part of a complete S100 stairlift system. The module's operation is contingent on a landline connection to the base station.

Maintenance Features (Error Codes):

The Call module provides visual and auditory indicators to communicate its status and any potential issues. These error codes are crucial for troubleshooting and maintenance:

  • LED colour: Off, Sound: None: This indicates the module is in standby mode, which is a normal operational state.
  • LED colour: Flashing red, Sound: None: This signifies that the module is not registered to a base station. This could be due to an initial setup issue or a loss of registration.
  • LED colour: Flashing red, Sound: Single beep every 20 seconds: This error code indicates that the module cannot find the base station it is registered to. Possible causes include the module being out of range or the base station being disconnected.
  • LED colour: Constant green, Sound: Dialling tone: This state indicates that the module is actively trying to establish a call.
  • LED colour: Flashing green, Sound: Busy tone: This means that the far-end caller has disconnected the call.
  • LED colour: Constant green (after initiating a call attempt), Sound: None: This indicates that there is no telephone line connected to the base station, preventing a call from being established.

For any further questions or issues not covered by these error codes, users are advised to contact their supplier for support.

Compliance and Regulatory Information:

The S100 Call module complies with various regulatory standards, including:
