What to do if steam leaks from TLV Plumbing Product trap outlet?

  If steam is leaking from the TLV Plumbing Product trap outlet, it could be due to rust and scale around the orifice or under the float (clean it). The orifice might be damaged (replace the orifice). The float could be deformed or coated with scale (clean or replace it). The trap might be installed at an incorrect angle (correct the installation). Vibration could be occurring (lengthen inlet piping and fasten it securely). Or the X-element could be damaged or clogged (clean or replace it).

  If no condensate is discharged or the discharge is poor from your TLV Plumbing Product, it might be due to a damaged or condensate-filled float (replace the float). The orifice, screen, or piping could be clogged (clean them). Steam-locking may have occurred (blowdown through the bypass or close the trap inlet valve to cool the trap). The X-element could be damaged (replace it). Also, check if the trap's operating pressure exceeds the maximum specified pressure, or if there's insufficient pressure differential (compare specifications and actual operating conditions).
