that the voltage stated on the appliance's informaon plate matches the mains voltage of
your mains network. Insert the plug in an earthed socket.

preparing meat and vegetables together, rst place the vegetables in the bowl. Cover the
ceramic bowl with the glass lid. Switch on the appliance by seng the selector switch to the

• Dried beans, such a red kidney beans, must always be soaked for a night and then pre-
cooked for 10-15 minutes before placing them in the slow cooker, in order to remove
any toxins.
• Beans from ns are added 30-45 minutes before the end of the cooking me.
• Rice, noodles and pasta are not suitable for long cooking mes. Cook these products
separately and add them in the last 30 minutes.
• Do not place frozen meat or poultry in the slow cooker. All products must rst be
defrosted thoroughly.
• When preparing a combinaon of meat and root vegetables, always place the root
vegetables at the boom of the ceramic bowl.
• Do not ll the slow cooker up to the edge with food.
• Taking o the lid oen, will slow down the cooking process. Do not take o the lid
during the rst half of the cooking me.
• The mes found in recipes are only guidelines. The actual cooking me depends
on dierent factors, such as the quality of the ingredients, the sizes of the dierent
pieces, the amounts, the number of mes that the lid is taken o, etc.
Notes
Ensure that all the food is fully cooked before consuming it. When slow cooking, you are
preparing the products below boiling temperature. Liquids do not ‘boil’ at this temperature
and lile steam or vapour is produced. Major advantage of this is that the food does not
burn and that srring is hardly necessary. Slow cooking is not only praccal, it also helps to
maintain the avours and nutrients in your dish.
