What to do if my Tool Shop AT01101 Air Compressor pressure relief valve opens?
    • V
      Vickie RobertsAug 7, 2025
If the pressure relief valve opens, it means the tank pressure has exceeded its normal rating. Replace the pressure switch to resolve this. It could also mean that the pressure switch is stuck, in which case, you should also replace it.

What to do if the regulated pressure gauge reading drops when using my Tool Shop AT01101 Air Compressor?

This can be normal. If the pressure drops too low, adjust the regulator while the accessory is in use. However, if the compressor is not large enough for the tool, check the air requirement of the accessory. If it's higher than the CFM and pressure supplied by the compressor, you'll need a larger compressor. Most accessories are rated at 25% of actual CFM while running continuously.

Why is air leaking from the regulator on my Tool Shop Air Compressor?

Air leaks or pressure regulation issues often stem from dirty or damaged internal parts of the regulator. The solution is to replace the regulator or its internal parts.

Why is my Tool Shop AT01101 not building enough pressure?

Several factors can cause low pressure. First, ensure the tank drain valve is closed tightly. Leaking fittings should be checked with soapy water and tightened or resealed, but avoid overtightening. Also, a restricted air intake requires you to clean or replace the air filter element. If you are using air excessively for prolonged periods, decrease the amount of air used. The compressor might not be large enough for your needs, so verify that the air requirement of your accessory isn't higher than what the compressor supplies. Accessories are typically rated at 25% of actual CFM when running continuously. Inspect the air hose for holes and replace if needed. Immediately replace the tank if it is leaking and do not attempt to repair it. Finally, blown seals, valve leaks, or a leaking/worn p...

How to fix a Tool Shop Air Compressor motor that will not run?
    • J
      Joshua GriffinNov 18, 2025
First, the motor will start automatically when tank pressure drops below the pressure tank's kick-in pressure. If the motor overload protection has tripped, let the motor cool off, and the overload switch will automatically reset, which may take several minutes. Check for a blown fuse or tripped circuit breaker, and replace or reset it, ensuring you do not use a fuse or circuit breaker with a higher rating than specified for your branch circuit. Ensure you are using the proper fuse; a 'Fusetron' type T is acceptable. Verify there is no low voltage and that the extension cord is the correct size. Disconnect other applications from the circuit to operate the compressor on a dedicated circuit. Also, bleed line by moving pressure switch lever to OFF position before restarting. If bleeder valve...
