Why is my Topaz Air Conditioner compressor running but not cooling enough?
    • S
      silvasandraAug 16, 2025
If the compressor in your Topaz Air Conditioner runs, but the condenser fan does not, and you're experiencing insufficient cooling, start by checking for any loose or defective wires and repair them. Replace any shorted or open condenser motor capacitors. If the motor is bad, replace it. Insufficient airflow through the evaporator coil could also be the cause. Check for improper blower rotation and correct it if necessary. Replace a dirty air filter, clean a dirty evaporator coil, remove any obstructions, and defrost any ice on the evaporator coil. If the refrigerant is low, repair the leak and recharge it. Finally, ensure that the unit is properly sized for the load; if not, consider adding additional air conditioners.

How to fix a noisy Topaz TZ-60B Air Conditioner?
    • P
      Patricia HensonAug 21, 2025
If your Topaz Air Conditioner is operating noisily, it could be due to several factors. For TZ-60B3&4 models, check for improper compressor rotation and correct it if necessary. Inspect all panels and components to ensure they are securely fastened, tightening as needed. Also, check motors, blower wheels, drives, bearings, and shafts, tightening them as required. If the noise persists, the motor, compressor, or bearing might be bad and need replacement.

What to do if my Topaz TZ-60B Air Conditioner is leaking water?
    • H
      Henry MoodyAug 27, 2025
If your Topaz Air Conditioner is leaking water from the pan, it could be due to several reasons. The drain pan might be plugged, so remove any obstructions. Check the connections of the evaporator, drain, or condensate pump hose and tighten them if necessary. If the drain pan is leaking, repair or replace it. Also, inspect the condensate pump for defects, check the condensate hose for obstructions or excessive height above the pump (12 ft. max.), clear or reroute the tube as needed, and check the pump and wiring, replacing if required.

Why does my Topaz TZ-60B's evaporator coil keep freezing?
    • B
      Beth EvansAug 31, 2025
If the evaporator coil in your Topaz Air Conditioner is freezing and the unit shuts down, it could be due to obstructed evaporator airflow. Check for any obstructions and clean the filter and coil if required. Also, verify that the thermostat freeze protection is working by ensuring the freeze sensor is mounted to the coil.

Why my Topaz Air Conditioner unit does not run?
    • B
      briansawyerNov 6, 2025
If your Topaz Air Conditioner isn't running, there could be several reasons. First, check the external power supply and reset the LCDI cord. Also, inspect the circuit breakers and fuses, replacing or resetting them if needed. If 'tF' is indicated, the condensate tank may be full and needs emptying. Verify the Mode setting and temperature setpoint on the thermostat are correct for the room temperature, resetting if necessary. Check the thermostat display and response; if it's inoperable, consider replacing it. If error codes like rE, FE, CF, Fr, or tF appear, address the specific sensor or component failure, such as repairing/replacing sensors, checking for compressor problems, or emptying the condensate tank. For electrical panel issues like a defective transformer, blown fuse, loose wire,...

What to do if the evaporator fan runs but the compressor doesn't in my Topaz TZ-60B Air Conditioner?
    • A
      Amber HarrellNov 10, 2025
If the evaporator fan in your Topaz Air Conditioner runs, but the compressor and condenser fan do not, it could be due to several reasons. The thermostat might be satisfied, meaning there's no demand for cooling at the moment. Alternatively, the thermostat could be in compressor start delay mode; wait at least five minutes after setting it to COOL. Ensure the thermostat is set to COOL mode. Check if the condensate jumper plug or condensate pump is properly installed. Inspect the high-pressure switch and press the reset button, replacing the switch if necessary. Look for loose or defective wires, securing contacts or replacing wires as needed. A shorted or open run capacitor may also be the cause, requiring replacement. If none of these resolve the issue, the compressor itself may be defect...
