Proper Shifting Procedures - Gear

IMPORTANT: This is not a “shift on the go” system.
The operator must depress the clutch pedal and the
tractor must be stopped before shifting to the next
gear. Shifting the tractor without the use of the clutch
may cause severe damage to the transaxle (Figure
211).

Shift Linkage Adjustment
If the gear shift lever and the internal shift detents do
not align, use the following procedure to correct the
problem:
1. Disengage the PTO, set the parking brake, turn
the ignition key to OFF and remove the key.
2. Place the gear shift lever in 6
th
gear (Figure 212).

3. Disconnect the linkage rod at the transaxle shift
arm (Figure 213).
