certication of the machine, use only genuine T oro
replacement parts and accessories. Replacement
parts and accessories made by other manufacturers
could be dangerous, and such use could void the
product warranty .

machine from the normal operating position.

General Safety
• Evaluate the terrain to determine what accessories
and attachments are needed to properly and
safely perform the job. Only use accessories and
attachments approved by T oro.
• Inspect the area where the equipment is to be
used and remove all rocks, toys, sticks, wires,
bones, and other foreign objects. These can
be thrown or interfere with the operation of the
machine and may cause personal injury to the
operator or bystanders.
• W ear appropriate personal protective equipment
such as safety glasses, substantial slip-resistant
footwear , and hearing protection. T ie back long
hair and avoid loose clothing and loose jewelry
which may get tangled in moving parts.
CAUTION
This machine produces sound levels in
excess of 85 dBA at the operator ’ s ear and
can cause hearing loss through extended
periods of exposure.
W ear hearing protection when operating
this machine.
• Check that the operator presence controls,
safety switches, and shields are attached and
functioning properly . Do not operate unless they
are functioning properly .
• Do not operate the mower when people, especially
children, or pets are in the area. Stop the machine
and attachment(s) if anyone enters the area.
• Do not operate the machine without the entire
grass collection system, discharge deector ,
or other safety devices in place and in proper
working condition. Grass catcher components
are subject to wear , damage and deterioration,
which could expose moving parts or allow objects
to be thrown. Frequently check for worn or
deteriorating components and replace them with
the manufacturer ’ s recommended parts when
necessary .
