1.Parkthemachineonalevelsurface,disengage
theblade-controlswitch,andengagetheparking
brake.
2.Shutofftheengine,removethekey,andwait
forallmovingpartstostopbeforeleavingthe
operatingposition.
3.Removethedustcapfromthecasterandtighten
thelocknut(Figure58).
4.Tightenthelocknutuntilthespringwashersare
at,andthenbackoffa1/4turntoproperlyset
thepreloadonthebearings(Figure58).
Important:Makesurethatthespring
washersareinstalledcorrectlyasshownin
Figure58.

brake.
2.Shutofftheengine,removethekey,andwait
forallmovingpartstostopbeforeleavingthe
operatingposition.
3.Raisetherearofthemachineupandsupport
themachinewithjackstands.
4.Removethereartiresfromthemachine.
5.Removeanydebrisfromthebrakearea.
6.Releasethedrivewheels;refertoUsingthe
Drive-Wheel-ReleaseValves(page32).
7.Ensurethatthecaliperistightenedtothe
transmission.
8.Disengagetheparkingbrake.
9.Installtherearlinkagetothebellcrankandpin
usingthespringclevispin(Figure59).
