Spindle Replacement & Service
Mower Deck Spindle Removal
1. Disengage the PTO and set the parking brake.
2. Stop the engine, remove the key, and wait for all
moving parts to stop before leaving the operating
position.
3. Engage the parking brake.
4. Lower the mower deck to the lowest height-of-cut
position.
5. Remove the belt covers (Fig. 1250).
6. Loosen the front idler by loosening the nut (Fig.
1251).

7. Remove the mower deck belt from the mower deck
pulleys (Fig. 1252).
