YOUR WARRANTY RIGHTS AND OBLiGATiONS
TheCaliforniaAir ResourcesBoardandMTDConsumerGroupIncare pleasedto explaintheevaporativeemissioncontrolsystemwarrantyonyour 2006lawn
mower.InCalifornia,new lawnmowermustbedesigned,builtand equippedto meetthe State'sstringentanti-smogstandards.MTDConsumerGroupInc must
warrantthe EECSon your lawnmowerfor the periodoftimelistedbelowprovidedthere hasbeennoabuse,neglector impropermaintenanceof your lawnmower.
YourEECSmayincludepartssuchasthe carburetor,fuel-injectionsystem,the ignitionsystem,catalyticconverter,fueltanks,fuel lines,fuelcaps,valves,
canisters,filters,vaporhoses,clamps,connectors,and otherassociatedemission-relatedcomponents.
Where a warrantable condition exists, MTDConsumer Group Inc will repair your lawn mower at no cost toyou includingdiagnosis, partsand labor.
MANUFACTURER'S WARRANTY COVERAGE:
Thisevaporativeemissioncontrolsystemiswarrantedfor twoyears.If anyevaporativeemission-relatedparton yourequipmentisdefective,the partwill be
repairedor replacedby MTDConsumerGroupInc.
OWNER'S WARRANTY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Asthe lawnmowerowner,you are responsiblefor performanceofthe requiredmaintenancelistedin yourowner'smanual. MTDConsumerGroupInc recom-
mendsthat youretainall receiptscoveringmaintenanceonyour lawnmower,but MTDConsumerGroupInccannotdenywarrantysolelyfor the lackof receipts.
Asthe lawnmowerowner,you shouldhoweverbeawarethat MTDConsumerGroupIncmaydeny youwarrantycoverageifyour lawnmoweror a part hasfailed
dueto abuse,neglect,or impropermaintenanceor unapprovedmodifications.
Youare responsiblefor presentingyourlawnmowerto MTDConsumerGroupInc'sdistributioncenteror servicecenteras soon asthe problemexists.The
warrantyrepairsshouldbecompletedin a reasonableamountof time,notto exceed30 days.If youhavea questionregardingyour warrantycoverage,youshould
contactthe MTDConsumerGroupIncService Departmentat 1-800-800-7310.
GENERAL EMISSIONS WARRANTY COVERAGE:
MTDConsumerGroupIncwarrantsto the ultimatepurchaserand eachsubsequentpurchaserthat the lawnmoweris:Designed,builtand equippedso asto
conformwithall applicableregulations;andfreefromdefectsin materialsand workmanshipthat causethe failureofa warrantedpartto beidenticalin all material
respectstothat partas describedin MTDConsumerGroupInc'sapplicationfor certification.
Thewarrantyperiodbeginsonthedate the lawnmowerisdeliveredto an ultimatepurchaserorfirst placedintoservice.The warrantyperiodis two years.
Subjectto certainconditionsandexclusionsas stated below,the warrantyon emission-relatedpartsisas follows:
1. Anywarrantedpart that isnot scheduledfor replacementas requiredmaintenanceinthe writteninstructionssupplied,iswarrantedfor thewarrantyperiod
statedabove.If the partfails duringthe periodof warrantycoverage,the part will berepairedor replacedby MTDConsumerGroupIncaccordingto subsection
(4) below.Anysuchpart repairedor replacedunderwarrantywillbe warrantedforthe remainderofthe period.
2. Anywarrantedpart that isscheduledonlyfor regularinspectioninthe writteninstructionssuppliediswarrantedfor thewarranty periodstatedabove.Anysuch
partrepairedor replacedunderwarrantywill bewarrantedfor the remainingwarrantyperiod.
3. Anywarrantedpart that isscheduledfor replacementas requiredmaintenancein the writteninstructionssuppliedis warrantedfor the periodof timebeforethe
firstscheduledreplacementdate for that part.If the part failsbeforethe firstscheduledreplacement,the partwillbe repairedor replacedby MTDConsumer
GroupInc accordingto subsection(4)below.Anysuchpartrepairedor replacedunderwarrantywill be warrantedforthe remainderofthe periodpriorto the
firstscheduledreplacementpointfor the part.
4. Repairor replacementof anywarrantedpart underthe warrantyprovisionshereinmustbe performedat a warrantystationat nochargeto the owner.
5. Notwithstandingthe provisionsherein,warrantyservicesor repairswill be providedat all ofour distributioncentersthat arefranchisedto servicethe subject
enginesor equipment.
6. Thelawnmowerownerwill not bechargedfor diagnosticlabor that isdirectlyassociatedwith diagnosisof a defectke,emission-relatedwarrantedpart,
providedthat suchdiagnosticworkis performedat a warrantystation.
7. MTDConsumerGroupIncis liable for damagesto otherengineor equipmentcomponentsproximatelycausedby a failureunderwarrantyof anywarranted
part.
8. Throughoutthe lawnmowerwarranty periodstatedabove,MTDConsumerGroupInc willmaintaina supplyof warrantedpartssufficientto meettheexpected
demandfor suchparts.
9. Anyreplacementpartmay beusedinthe performanceof anywarrantymaintenanceor repairsand mustbe providedwithoutchargeto the owner.Suchusewill
not reducethe warrantyobligationsofMTDConsumerGroupInc.
10.Add-onor modifiedpartsthat arenotexemptedbytheAir ResourcesBoardmaynot beused.The useof any non-exemptedadd-onor modifiedpartsby the
ultimatepurchaserwillbegroundsfor disallowinga warrantyclaims.MTDConsumerGroupIncwill not beliableto warrantfailuresof warrantedparts caused
bythe useofa non-exemptedadd-onor modifiedpart.
WARRANTED PARTS:
Therepairor replacementof anywarrantedpart otherwiseeligiblefor warrantycoveragemaybeexcludedfromsuchwarrantycoverageif MTDConsumerGroup
Incdemonstratesthat the lawnmowerhasbeenabused,neglected,or improperlymaintained,andthat suchabuse,neglect,or impropermaintenancewasthe
directcauseofthe needfor repairor replacementof the part.Thatnotwithstanding,anyadjustmentofa componentthat hasafactory installed,and properly
operating,adjustmentlimitingdeviceis still eligiblefor warrantycoverage.Thefollowingemissionwarrantypartslist arecovered:FuelLine,FuelLineClamps
