5.Usethecliptoinstalltheair-ltercover.
ChangingtheEngineOil
Changingtheengineoilisnotrequired,butifyoudesire
tochangetheoil,usethefollowingprocedure.
Note:Runtheengineafewminutesbeforechangingthe
oiltowarmit.Warmoilowsbetterandcarriesmore
contaminants.
Max.ll:0.53L(18oz),type:SAE30detergentoilwithan
APIserviceclassicationofSF,SG,SH,SJ,SL,orhigher.
1.Movethemachinetoalevelsurface.
2.RefertoPreparingforMaintenance(page16).
3.Removethedipstick(Figure33).

draintheusedoiloutthroughtheoil-lltube(Figure

6.Slowlypourabout3/4ofthecrankcasecapacityofoil
intotheoil-lltube.
7.Waitabout3minutesfortheoiltosettleinthe
crankcase.
8.Wipethedipstickcleanwithacleancloth.
9.Insertthedipstickfullyintotheoil-lltube,then
removethedipstick.
10.Readtheoillevelonthedipstick(Figure33).
•IftheoillevelisbelowtheAddmarkonthe
dipstick,slowlypourasmallamountofoilintothe
oil-lltubeandrepeatsteps8through10untilthe
oillevelisattheFullmarkonthedipstick.
•IftheoillevelisabovetheFullmarkonthe
dipstick,draintheexcessoiluntiltheoillevelon
thedipstickisattheFullmark.
