1.Toholdthespindleshaft,useanopenendwrench
(1-1/2)onthespindleshafthexend.
2.Installtheblade,springdiskandbladebolt.The
springdiskconemustbeinstalledtowardthe
bolthead(
Figure81).Torquethebladeboltto
85-110ft-lb(115-150N-m).

RemovingtheMowerDeck
Beforeservicingorremovingthemowerdeck,thespring
loadeddeckarmsmustbelockedout.
1.Stopengine,waitforallmovingpartstostop,and
removekey.Engageparkingbrake.
2.Removetheheightadjustmentpinandlowerthe
decktotheground.
3.Placetheheightadjustmentpininthe3inch(7.6
cm)cuttingheightlocation.
4.Removethebeltcovers.
5.Liftuptheoorpanandinsertaratchetintothe
squareholeinthedeckidler(
Figure82).
6.Rotatethedeckidlerclockwiseandremovethe
mowerbelt(Figure82).
